Kessler is unavailable at the moment. Calling him out right now would be equivalent of calling out Mike Tyson. :D

Bute would be a more logical route than Kessler first. If Froch beat Taylor and then Bute, obviously would then set up a very big European fight. Plus Kessler has his own issues right now...

The problem is Bute on is a very small time frame. He has until the beginning of July to fight. Then he has to defend against Librado Andrade. The IBF could grant him an extension in the case of a unification bout. But then people would say Bute is "running away from Andrade".

Bute NEEDS to rematch Andrade (if he beats Tsypko) before engaging in a unification fight. The earliest Bute would fight the winner of Taylor v. Froch is in Spring 2010...

In the article, it says that Froch would be willing to travel to Montreal to fight Bute. It makes sense to have the fight there anyway, for all the reasons applicable.

If Taylor beats Froch, he'll fight Green in late summer/autumn, in the USA.

If Froch beats Taylor, he'll fight Miranda in late summer/autumn, in Nottingham.

If Bute wins his voluntary defence, he'll fight Andrade (?) in autumn, in Montreal.

If Bute beats Andrade, he'll fight the winner of Taylor v. Froch in Spring 2010, probably in Montreal...

It looks unlikely that Kessler will have sorted his problems out until then anyway...but if he has...Kessler will be a possibility too. Money will talk. US TV brings the money and Bute will take the bi$$est fight out there, I guess.:good

That wouldn't be an issue. IIRC Froch has to fight two mandatories after picking up the vacant title. Taylor would be one, so he if he beats him he will still have another to take care of before he would be available. That could be done at the same time as Bute is facing Andrade or Tsypko.

    I don't see a Froch/Miranda fight happening.

For a fight to sell big in the UK your name has to be Ricky Hatton, or the opponent has to be seriously well known.

In the grand scheme of things, who the **** is Edison Miranda?

We talking about a fight to satisfy Froch's second mandatory and occupy time before Bute becomes available though?

It's not going to be an opponent to 'sell big in the UK'. Froch can sell a reasonably big arena fairly much on his own (Nottingham Ice Arena, Sheffield Arena, NEC). I guess that the ideal opponent would be someone that is then at least a reasonably known name in the US to maintain the prfile over there. Ward and Dirrell are currently one and two in the WBC rankings, so that gives him options there. Miranda is ranked nine and would also fit the bill. Possiblity might be that Miranda might be more keen on another trip to the UK than Ward or Dirrell might be on looking for their passports.

I'm 100% sure that Froch will beat Taylor. Taylor is happy when he's having it his own way, but soon as Lacy clipped him he went into safety first mode.

Lacy is plodding enough that he was unlikely to be able to deal with taylor's speed and movement, but Froch is a different prospect entirely. He can move, has fast hands and hits hard enough to have Taylor in trouble.

Plus, Bute is clearly a more likely win for Froch than Kessler. I don't think Froch beats either of them, but he has much more of a puncher's chance against Bute than Kessler, since Bute is more prone to making mental mistakes and doesn't quite have Kessler's stamina or chin.

Bute is an easier fight than Taylor I think. Its good of him looking at this the way it should be done, taking over the country, winning a world title, unifying the division!!Always talks so much sense does Carl!!!!
