Billy Nelson posted something on here yesterday about Burns being the best fighter in the country and that he wants the big fights. But surely he must of forgotten about Carl Froch who is by far our best fighter today. My questions are: Who has the better resume out of Burns and Froch? Froch by a country mile. Where do you have Froch and Burns in your british P4P and World P4P Lists? Froch is 1st on my British list and 10th on my world list. Burns is 3rd on my british list behind Haye and doesn't even make it into my top 20 P4P list. My post has also been fueled by the ridiculous article in the Sun by Fwank claiming that Froch is not a legend because he lost to Kessler and Ward and that Burns was the best fighter in Britain.
Froch is number 1 in Britain by miles and just sneaks into my top 10 pound for pound list. I do think Burns is number 2 in Britain, due to Haye's inactivity and Khans recent losses, however he'd probably about 25-30 if I did a pound for pound list that went that far.
No contest, Froch all day. Burns is fighting British title level comp, he'd be a good British Champion.
Froch shits all over Burns resume wise and skill wise. If you listed their 5 best wins between them it would be Pascal, Taylor, AA, Bute and Dirrel (in no particular order). Also, Froch wouldn't dream of making a 'world' title defence against the likes of an injured Nicky Cook or Liam Walsh ffs.
ye Froch is the best, but Burns is second, Hayes best win recently is Chisora, his last good win was 2008. He may have the skill, but he's hardly proven it recently
Resume :nono Best fighter or better record are two completely different things. Purely on a skills basis Burns is a much better technical fighter than Froch but his record is nowhere near as good
F-Wank sets a trap and we all happily jump in. Don't do it lads. There's no need for this debate. What else would Billy say? "He's the #2 in Britain after Carl Froch"?
Burns has got to be second after Froch, you can't have Haye or Khan above him. Haye has beat Chisora and Audley Harrison and lost to Wlad since April 2010, how can you argue that is better than Ricky? Amir has lost his last 2 fights so is also clearly below Ricky.
I can see both points of view regarding Burns or Haye being number 2. I think at the least Burns is ahead of Khan for number 3
