Froch on his best day never had half the ring smarts of any version of Hopkins. Every time Froch loses he either 1. Throws his dummy out of his pram (Kessler) or 2. Gives serious thought to retirement (Ward) hence my original post about him probably saying he would retire post fight.
You make it sound like Froch is just going to stand there like a meatbag without hitting back. Joe cant go 12 rounds with a full rate of fire if he's hurt. Accumulative pressure and power shots will take there toll and slow Joe down.
I respect Froch-he's a legit tough guy. But I believe Calzaghe would have beaten him clearly and convincingly-perhaps an 8-4 type decision.
The biggest **** esb as ever seen A pissy ****ing goon who got thrown around like a ****ing ragdoll day in day out by the Team Elite Corporation :rofl BTW, Hi fragile popkins, how's that lantern jaw of yours doing :good
before my tmie clearly. doesnt really help, seeing as its coming from terribly biased TEC but thx for the input all the same.
Out of here you Heathen. You cant contributie to the debate because you have the iq of a dog. Contunie your spiteful crusade against other posters elsewhere. Im not interested.
I disagree even tho I admit I didn't read deep into the post. Calzaghe is the one who is all wrong for Froch. Froch has been able to set up powerful punches which had his opponents taking a knee or backpedalling exception made for Ward, Pascal and Johnson. So the main advantage Froch had against the likes of Reid, Taylor, Dirrell, Abraham and Bute is the fact that they waited for the Froch's lead move to punch back... Whenever someone got first at him such as Ward or Kessler, he coundn't counter. Yes, I am saying that Froch is not only an awkward and good fighter, he is also and mainly a fighter who needs to press and get into exchanges to capitalize on. Happens that Joe Calzaghe would always get to him first and would press, shoke him with pressure and non stop two handed punching. Now, I have found some diffilculties Joe had like squaring up on attacks and that caused him being hit on counter-moves and decked against Salem, Mitchell, Hopkins and Jones but no way, no how Froch would have the reflexes to counter against Calzaghe, no way.
It would be closer than the scorecards suggest, but I think Calzaghe would win clearly in a 9-3 or 10-2 type decision. Froch is heavy handed, but he's not knocking out iron chinned Calzaghe. Clear decision win for Joe
Personally I think Calzaghe/Froch would be a replay of Martinez/Pavlik. Similiar fighters with similiar strengths and weaknesses, similiar outcome.
