i think chavez jr is an overated hype job. i think froch will tko him, groves would also beat chavez jr
As long as froch doesn't slack in his training like for the first groves fight it should be comfortable for him
He is a name and it would be a fun fight. Chavez boxed ok last time out v Vera and is decent if he cares enough. But he has a really hard head (maybe even competing with Froch) and Froch isn't the type of boxer to win a landslide, unless he is fighting Abraham! Personally, I don't think Froch needs it and it won't add anything to his 'legacy'. He won't fight Ward again and the fight won't sell at all, Golovkin maybe be an option but unlikely and Kessler tight actually bores me a bit (too much Warrior talk, too pally, Mikkel on the slide, pen in 117-111). He could of course fight Degale, but he doesn't want another Groves situation on his hands and Degale has a solid chin, is incredibly awkward, skilled and won't tire like Groves after 6. It's up to Carl, but really not sure why he doesn't call it a day. Amazing the stick he was getting November - February And even through to the fight itself. Shut a lot of people up.

Considering the fight won't be for at least 6 months, he took hardly any punishment in the Groves fight, it will be a year since he's been in a war and I think he'd be pretty fresh to toe to toe if he had to. I also think Chavez got battered for 12 rounds by Martinez, a light middle who is fighting a career welterweight in his next fight, and it would be great to see the spoiled brat living off his dad's name, who constantly insults the sport with his attitude, get pummelled by Froch for 12 rounds.

I can see froch getting a pay day in vegas against chavez I think he can scrape past chavez unless HBO shaft him on the cards then fighting Bika in Nottingham trent arena as a retirement fight
Chavez Jr fight makes sense for Froch and you can't blame him if he goes for it. He wants to fight in Vegas before he calls it a day, have his name up in lights and tick it off his check list. Yeah Chavez Jr hasn't done anything at 168, but he has big drawing power which means more ££££ for the retirement fund. Froch has fought a who's who of the division for the last 5 or so years, he's more than worthy of being able to choose his next opponent. Both of them will come to "fight" so the fans will see action. Although Chavez has fought at a lower weight, you can't really accuse Froch of picking on a "little man" because Chavez is a big guy himself, he'll be heavier than Froch on fight night.
This is how I see it, Froch will use his range and jab just like he did against Abraham, I think Chavez will have his moments but ultimately I also see a 116-112 type UD.
