You think it the worst performance by a world champion? It was pathetic? An amateur could have done better?

Agreed. Froch completely wasted that opportunity for real business. Good call.

  6. Was this the guy........who said the reason he and his son set up the fight with Roy Jones was beacuse, he was very impressive against the retired former WW Felix Trinidad

Oh my bad, nah I don't, I thought that was bull****....I meant everything concerning Froch's technique, I think his performance was pretty impressive considering how limited he is

But what I don't understand is y his skills r so horrible, I mean....he seems to have a very intellegent cornerman, that Mccracken guy (I think that was his name) seems to be very schooled on the game, so it makes no sense for his technique to be that poor

i knew where you were coming from, I thought the same on some of the points.

Enzo throws some bitter tripe in there as well though.

Please tell me your not refering to the Brewer fight in a positive light?..... Hmmm so at 31 Calzaghe decided to finally step up to facing the lower fighters in the top tens after a series of mediocre wins. We have the so-so win over a badly out of form Robn Reid who had struggled desprately since moving into 'world' class. Light Middle Giovanni Pretorias, Sugar Boy Malinga and Hascine Cherifi??? Come on...... Who else? Byron Mitchell aka one hit wonder (Frankie Liles victory).... None of Calzaghes wins were of any significance in the top 5 of a horribly empty division. Fact is Calzaghe maybe could have unified but was too fearful to take that risk.

    Wow...just wow...:patsch

Tell me, Jeff, what big money fights were available to Joe that can be compared to what is available to Froch, right now? Or to put it differently...if Froch didn't have a Bute or a Kessler or a Taylor etc., etc., etc., out there to provide bi$ fights for him and be willing to fight him, wouldn't he have stayed in Nottingham to defend whateve title he'd have held against "nobodies"?

Also, perhaps you'd care to answer for me a question that none of the Froch nuthuggers have been able to answer so far:

Why did Froch decide to dodge Bute in the IBF eliminator, if he's such a hero...and instead decided to fight his leftovers, before those leftovers even had time to recover from the beating Bute put on them?

Do you think Calzaghe in the same position would have dodged the eliminator against Bute to fight Bute's leftovers instead?

Do you think, having done that, Calzaghe would have said he'd have KOed both Bute and Berrio on the same night, only to fight someone like Robin Reid, instead of a proper live contender (and there were plenty available and willing), and then have the cheek to tell his betters that they were only interested in fighting past-it names?

Chew on that for a bit, pal.:good

...Oh, yeah, ....you can hate my guts and call me a ***** for saying it, but I'm real disappointed with your posts on the whole Calzaghe/Froch drama.:hi:

You people do realise Carl is 31?

Y'all know what I find ****ing hilarious about this lately. I keep hearing how great Carl is now, now that he's gone to America and beat this guy Taylor. A year ago all you would hear for Carl is complete ridicule for staying at domestic level for so long, no names on his resume, and talking far above what he's achieved. I would tongue in cheek boost Carl's case. Now everybody have jaw lock, on Carl's nuts.

-Point one..... Calzaghe could have fought Ottke, Brewer, Woodhall,Beyer, Malinga, Johnson, Hopkins, Jones, Hill, Griffin, Del Valle, Reggie Johnson, William Guthrie.... Take your pick.... anyone in form in the late nineties early 00's with a worldclass skillset.... Instead he waited for them to be beat or get old... or altogether avoided them..

-point 2.... When did Calzaghe ever feature in an elimator of any description let alone against a performer as skilled as Bute.... unless you mean the Torres fight.:huh You say it as if Calzaghe is the Arturo Gatti of matchmaking.. He was protected.... Always.

-Point 3..... Your comparing Carls pre world-championship career to Calzaghes historic WBO reign, do you not understand that by doing that you further prove my point.

-point 4.... Why would I hate you, you lunatic. You have your opinion, I have mine. Strange that you find it disappointing I have a different opinion to the majority, really you should be enjoying laughing at my misguidance if i'm so wrong.

Just out of curiousity, Jeff, who do you think would have beaten him apart from a prime Roy Jones?

I agree with Reggie Johnson, I would love to have seen that. The rest (prime RJ aside who I think we all probably agree would have prevailed) I just can't see giving him any trouble.
