Yeah, but as I said, I don't think Abraham would wait 10 rounds before looking for the finish line against Froch, precisely for the reasons you've outlined. So Froch's pressure, pace, stamina, body-punching... all those won't come into play. I think Abraham can take whatever Froch dishes out for 2-3 rounds and then he should have Froch figured out sufficiently to go for the KO. Once Abraham goes for it, Froch will start swinging too and I can only see one winner there really - Abraham is the harder, faster, more precise and more intelligent puncher and the better finisher. Now, I know Abraham isn't usually a fast starter, but you saw against Dirrell that he was already looking to knock him out in the 3rd round!
Kessler's jab is better than Froch´s for sure, but Kessler has been neglecting his jab in his last two fights (well he didn't get the chance to use it against Ward).
Yeah...Ward nullified everything Kessler had, but still.... Kessler looks a shadow of that Kessler at his very best (e.g. v. Andrade)
They are both excellent finishers so I wouldn't really pick them apart there. I just am not convinced by AA. But we will see.
We certainly will! If Froch beats Kessler, particularly by T/KO, Froch vs Abraham will have us all going mad with anticipation.
Froch by tko. The old Kessler is gone. He's lost too much speed and all of his confidence. He'll retire after the Froch fight.
No Way will he retire after that. He has green in the last fight and he will deffinately fancy that one.
The problem is that Froch is pretty much tailormade for everyone in the Super Six, but he keeps winning anyway. My money is on Kessler though!
Kessler took a psychological hit from being dominated by Ward, the billy-goat stuff notwithstanding. Either he will be somewhat damaged goods against an opponent he would have destroyed earlier (somewhat akin to Foreman's performance against Young after being damaged by Ali). Or he will feel that he needs redemption and come in his best shape and form, hungry for a big win. The first possibility weighs somewhat on my probability prediction: Kessler by KO: 35 % Kessler by decision: 45 % Froch by decision: 14 % Froch by KO: 5 % Draw 1 %
Froch is the kind of boxer who will make you feel very very uncomfortable in the ring because he just keeps on coming forward.
I have kessler knocking froch out in the mid rounds. 70% Kessler KO 25% Froch KO 5% Decision for either.
I have it: Froch points 28% (18/7) Kessler points 28% (18/7) Froch tko/ko/dis 19% (4/1) Kessler tko/ko/dis 19% (4/1) Draw 6% (16/1) I have the draw unusually high (6%=16/1) simply because I believe that a draw in this fight is twice as likely as most other fights (3%= 33/1). Imo this match-up is a wonderful example of a "Pick 'em" fight! And many bookmakers have priced this fight up as 5/6 each of two!! Of course, if I was pricing this fight up "For real" I would have: Froch points 9/4 Kessler points 9/4 Froch tko/ko/dis 9/4 Kessler tko/ko/dis 9/4 Draw 16/1 (I would be rather scared of the draw).
