Fighting Miranda is a waste of time for Froch... He has bigger things on the horizon.

    It's also a mismatch..

    Froch KO4 Miranda

Well, I admire your optimism and loyalty...

...I remember you were also optimistic before tha Abraham rematch, but this time around, I get the feeling you are much more realistic and measured...

...but...you will still believe in Miranda, even if he performs badly against Ward and loses, right?

It depends on the fight. If Ward completely outclasses Miranda and wins either a wide UD or late KO, I absolutely will have lost my faith in Miranda. Losing to Pavlik the way he did was no shame (looking back on it). Losing to Abraham in Germany was bull**** and I will never be convinced otherwise. Losing to Abraham the way he did in the USA was absolutely horrible. If that is what Miranda has become, then he is ruined and done. But knowing what happened in camp to get down to the weight, I think that is not the Pantera we will see anymore. Staying in Puerto Rico in shape should make a huge difference..... I hope!

Well, Froch just reminded us that determination counts. Let's hope this move means he is motivated.

Staying in shape has little to do with the most pressing problem. If Miranda doesn't correct the long list of technical flaws in his style he will continue to be cannonfodder for skilled boxers.

Well, I would guess that part of stying in PR and staying in shape means working with his trainer? Just a guess though.

Don't believe everything you read on Boxrec. Froch has an ape like 79inch reach and is 6'1"...not 74inch reach and 5'11" as reported on Boxrec

Pantera is what he is. He is never gonna be a good defensive fighter nor have text book skills. His best defense is his offense and heart. If he doesnt have to spend all camp starving himself and working on his weight, he is much better come fight night. Having a healthy metabolism makes you stronger and helps you take a punches better.

Taylor is no doubt a more skilled (textbook at least) fighter with much better defense than Froch. But being in great shape, Froch was able to squeek out the win. Its not always about true skills, and Im hoping come May 16th that wont make the difference in their fight.

Miranda will always have a puncher's chance because of his natural ability to end a fight with one punch. Nevertheless, he can give himself a better chance by doing nothing more than getting back to good fundamentals. He is capable of performing better. How often do trainers tell their boxers not to pull straight back? That is what he did against Abraham in the second fight and he was punished for it. Just because 99% of your opponents don't punish you, doesn't mean that you won't ever be punished.

froch/miranda is a toss up because it's basically whoever lands the biggest punch first. i think ward would box the **** out of froch. with a few more fights and a little more experience ward takes froch to school easily. the guy's a gold medal winner for christ's sake! there's no way froch gets out of the ring with a win.

Froch appears to have a better chin than Miranda. A match between them would obviously be a chin testing contest insofar as both of them are easy to hit. Ward is a completely different story. He is hard to hit and boxes very well. I expect him to beat Miranda on points and there is no reason that he isn't ready for a slugger like Froch as long as he can deal with the pressure of a big event.

No doubt they work hard on these fundamentals in between fights. And yes, pulling back is what killed him against Abraham. Don't get me wrong, there are improvements that can and are being made, but in the heat of battle, Miranda is a strong brawler with a big heart. This is how is will win fights. Hopefully the learning experience in the gym pays off to get him this change in the fight with Ward.
