Indeed. I remember a thread about this match up before the Super 6 and I said Froch would win, which was laughed at. It could have been before Hopkins/Pavlik, in fact. Regardless of when it was, I chose Froch then and I would now without a second thought. Pavlik wouldn't be able to handle the punch variety. He's too obvious for a guy like Froch. The only question for me is whether Pavlik gets stopped. He's tough but Froch would beat him up.
I think the best thing for Kelly's career would be to first, kick his drinking habit. Then second, get with a real trainer. Stop all this hometown crap and get a guy n your corner that can teach you a little more than "double jab, right hand". I think Emmaul Steward could revive Pavlik's career... and Pavlik is the ideal guy for Steward to train... tall, good jab and a monster right hand. Under Steward I think Kelly could knock Froch out. Froch's defense is not very good and Pavlik's when he's at his best throws a lot of punches. It would be a war, but if Pavlik can get it together, I think he could stop Froch late in what would probably be FOTY
