I'm sorry, but that's so off base. Joe didn't retire because of Froch. That's just laughable. Froch was a nobody. Calzaghe makes him look silly if they fought.
He certainly didn't retire because of Froch, agreed. However, I think it a bit unfair to state that Calzaghe makes Froch look silly. Sure, it's more than probably a style that suits Joe, but who knows in boxing. With the exception of Lacy, I'm not sure Joe made any of his opponents look silly, including Pudwill. A prime Froch would at least sit in the best 3 (or higher) that Joe ever fought in my opinion.
It wouldn't be a Lacy style schooling, but Calzaghe would win relatively comfortably, something like 8-4. He would be all wrong for Carl. By saying 'silly' i don't mean it would be a mismatch. Carl is a warrior who NEVER capitulates in a loss, but Joe would adjust and run away with it down the stretch.
That **** Froch is a lot better than people think. The way he talks, makes himself sound like a guy who can only stand and trade. There's more to him than his chin and heart though. I'm not talking 'bout that giant nose either. He is a smarter boxer than he sounds. I still think Ward will win, but this may not be so one sided.
I'm very much looking forward to it. :happy I really hope it doesn't turn into a Kessler vs Ward type scenario though.
Froch is MADE for Ward, can't you see that? Ward will stop Carl on cuts within 9 Rounds. I love Carl to bits as a fighter, but you watch how much punishment he will take come Saturday... It's not going to be pretty!
