FS1: Rene Alvarado vs. Rocky Juarez RBR

Juarez is chased into the ropes as Alvarado gets full extension on his 1-2 and gets off several in a row, tagging Juarez high on the head and around the eyes. Juarez has some swelling now. Alvarado is tossing in light right hands past the stubby jab of Juarez. Nice left hook stepping in by Juarez. Combination upstairs, right hands and left hooks by Juarez as Alvarado leans forward and tucks his chin while backing out. Flush 1-2 on the chin by Alvarado on the outside. Juarez grinds in close and leans on him. Body shots by both with their free hands as they tangle on one side. 1-2 by Alvarado partly blocked and knocking Juarez into the ropes.

Round 8

Juarez lands a high left hook but doesn't follow up on it, standing in front of Alvarado to collect his receipt in the form of a long straight flurry. Juarez is leading with the left hook and rattling Alvarado, slipping the counter jab with a rightward tilt and placing the overhand right up top. Alvarado is backing away, hands down, mouth open. Clinch. Juarez is pressing through everything Alvarado throws on the backfoot, letting 1-2s skid off his eye sockets and landing stiff jabs to get in close. Juarez reaches up and taps Alvarado on the cheekbone with his right hand, retracts it halfway and doubles it before pulling it all the way. Alvarado clinches. Juarez is jabbing in past Alvarado's jab, timing him, not always landing but disrupting Alvarado's rhythm and setting up his right hands up top. Alvarado staggered by a left hook, jelly legs.

The 9th was delayed by about 45 seconds as Smoger and the corner argued over the placement of Alvarado's sagging trunks.
