    You're all very welcome.

I personally found it very interesting that he said Pacquiao having a better right hand, while dangerous, actually gives Marquez more opportunities to counter  Just can't get around the style match-up.

Announcer Dude: Has he learned how to counter-punch, Juan?

JMM: He's done it. He's done it in his fights; we've seen that his opponents haven't given him great opposition, so we'll be confident. He has learned how, so we're going to be very careful.

This is what Pacquiao has improved on, his counter punching and boxing, that will be the difference.

I actually heard Marquez say that he can now predict Pacquiao's shots better because he sets them up smarter like a boxer and isn't as wild.

Exactly. From after the first fight even. People kept bringing up how PAc had improved right before the 2nd Pac fight and Beristain and JMM both openly said. We welcome a more technical Pacquiao.

JMM did say that he likes that Pac will use that right hook. It gives him a chance to land the uppercut on him. A punch that i have said over and over JMM needs to land more on Pac as it is his best punch. Im not a genius like JMM so im guessing Pac doesnt normally offer him that option and now it sounds like he sees a much more inviting opening for that uppercut.

I dont care who you are. A JMM will stun you at the very least.

I think it's because of the alignment of the stances; southpaws and orthodox fighters have better alignment for their back hands, but less of a positioning to receive the arc of an uppercut. The right hook helps widen that opening for him.

In the few moments we saw him in against Ramos, I actually saw him bait the counter right hook (Ramos had a nice quick one) and counter it; bait with a jab, then lean back and come back with a hard 1-2.

The right hook was also there in the 2nd fight, both as a lead and a counter, so it's not some alien appendage Marquez is dealing with here.

Marquez is the best option for Pacquiao right now. It's not a cherrypick, though he does hold undeniably unfair advantages concerning the age and weight; even Ariza banks on the size difference. I believe Marquez will give the fight of his life, and he's got the best shot of any Mayweather alternatives right now of giving us an exciting worthwhile bout and challenge Pacquiao's supremacy.

It's not about the mathematical difference in pounds, but how they each arrived to that number. Marquez has to change his physiology to maximize his durability and strength at welterweight, which Pacquiao has done naturally for years now.

    As Steward has said:

"I have to go with Manny Pacquiao though because he has the bigger more physical strength. He is about nine or ten pounds larger naturally than Marquez, who I know for a fact that Marquez’s real weight is still not much more than 130 – 132. Before his last fight I was interviewing [him] and he said he had to do a lot of things to get his weight back up to try and make 135."

    And Ariza:

“The [knockout] will be earlier than you would think. [Pacquiao] is more complete now. He has much more speed, power and explosiveness. At the end of the day, that [smartness and cautiousness] will not win [Marquez] the fight. Marquez is smart. But what matters here is physiology. Marquez is a smaller guy,” Ariza told The Inquirer.

On top of all of this, Marquez is 38. Pacquiao is still somewhat challenging himself because Marquez could feasibly come in good shape somehow and give one last great performance as declining fighters are often capable of, especially due to his style and Ring IQ, but let's not pretend they are on an even playing field here.

No, he can't , because he can't afford to come in his "natural" weight against someone who is naturally more durable and harder hitting than he is in the weight class above. He can't take that risk of simply coming in comfortable, because Pacquiao has grown into the weight in a way Marquez probably never will. Pacquiao is effective doing whatever he does around 144, while Marquez only operates at that weight against naturally smaller guys. Coming in the same way he operates at lightweight would be too dangerous; he has to go above and beyond to make his body ready.

And no, it doesn't mean that, because Pacquiao wasn't always a natural welterweight. He's still somewhat small for the division, but he's grown into it. Before, he had to cut weight, but his performance shows he clearly wasn't drained, and he's had 4 years to move up in weight.

Basically, those extra pounds of water weight he regains at lightweight isn't the same as what makes up another fighter at welterweight that comes in at that weight solid.

A runner or defensive style fighter could afford and likely even benefit by just coming in comfortable, even under 140 lbs against Pacquiao......
......but a pocket counterpuncher who's always in the eye of the storm and in punching distance, needs to be able to hold his own strenghth wise.

Its why Marquez has to gain some mass and be stronger against Pacquiao than he would be fighting at the 135 lbs limit.

Pacquiao wont have to go looking for Marquez. Marquez is going to be right there inviting Pacquiao to come in.
If Pacquiao is allowed to be that much stronger physically, he can just force his way and bump and toss Marquez around using physical strenghth.
Thats why Marquez has to gain strenghth and mass to prevent from such happening.

Physical strenghth is an important requirement for a fighter to be able to position himself at the angles he wants to be in.......this is where Marquez could'nt match Mayweather. He must match or come close to match Pacquiao strenghthwise or Pacquiao will just do what he wants.

Allah, Jesus, Jehovah's, Yawa Bin Yawa, God please bless this humble servant Semi, I mean Marquez. The devils known as Pacquiao fans are guilty of idolatry, and are considered infidels of the sport of boxing.

Protect Marquezs chin, and give him the power of thinking so that he can knock Pacquiao the **** out and end Pacquiaos legions quest of misinformation and boxing immorality for they know no better.

Please watch Marquez. Allow him to drink his own **** so that he grows strong mentally and physically. Marquez deserves boxing immortality for he is 1-1 against Pacquiao and I don't give a **** what anyone says. Give him strength God. Reward him. I'll be indentured to you as will Marquez. A ****ing men!
