Hearns would beat Floyd but you could argue he was too big for Floyd, Hearns went up to light heavyweight if i'm not mistaken? He had a 80' reach, had KO power and was a great technical fighter. He KO'd Duran out cold and outboxed sugar Ray leonard for 14 rounds before SR TKO'd him. To me, his vulnerability was he seemed weak, shaky legs. Sugar Ray was outboxed by Hearns in that first fight but got a TKO stoppage. Hagler applied pressure and TKO'd him as-well (knowing he couldn't outbox him). Floyd is not a KO artist so without a KO win, Hearns would've beaten him rather easily, IMO.
i dont think of floyd as a total package boxer. SRLand SRR are better fighters than him. for this era though, his skills are exceptional. he is just lacking in the power, offense, fighter heart/warrior mentality departments. there are a lot of prime boxers that could have beaten him if fought them prime for prime on level playing field.
Lenoard, Hearns, Younger Oscar, Younger Mosley, Paul Williams (extreme rangey volume puncher is a nightmare for Floyds style), Pacman from 5 years ago,
I disagree. Head to head Floyd beats them all. If prime Oscar fought prime Floyd at a weight that suited them both Floyd would win the same with Mosley, Williams (who is a light version of Tommy Hearns) and Pacquiao. Floyd would not lose to any fighter from his era I really do think that if there was one fighter who would knock Floyd out and it would be a safe bet it would only by Tommy Hearns
If Rigondeaux could somehow be enlarged into a welterweight, while keeping his same skill level, and ability. He would beat Mayweather.
I agree with this, previously would've added a younger Mosley, but after seeing the older version and just the way he was so nervous and mentally unprepared or just not ready for floyd, I think even a younger Mosley would've found a way to check out of that fight. For some reason, floyd is just in Shane's kitchen mentally, or so it seemed from the get go that night. Would've loved to see a prime Oscar, but Istill think prime for prime, floyd edges him.
I can understand why people think Castillo won, but you don't really think Oscar or Maidana did, do you? Those 2 fights weren't even all that close Vernon Forrest would've beat Floyd. Had every attribute it takes, I think Quartey would've as well.
