I'm not being funny or anything but look at the shape fighters like Garcia get themselves into at 140, he's as pale as they come - he looks cut up completely. But that's because he has a trainer that doesn't let him slack and he's dedicated.
It's not only that, KK has his lads doing Lat Pulldowns/Tricep Pulldowns etc. Where are the Deadlifts/Squats/Power Cleans/Snatches/Kettebell exercises? Where are the 1-5 reps? He's the last person who I'd call on to look after my S&C programme. I'd rather go and train with the best that S&C coaches that the elite Rugby clubs use than KK.
I've never understood why British boxers seem less reluctant to dehydrate down further to make lower divisions. A lot of American fighters come into the ring 10-16lbs heavier on fight night and it doesn't affect them. Wasn't Brandon Rios about 155lbs coming into his fight against Alvarado (at 140lbs), I'm sure Garcia was about a stone heavier in his fight against Matthysse. I bet Broner weighed more than Gavin on fight night when he fought De Marco and Rees at Lightweight! Chavez jr was makin 160lbs for a couple of years, he was entering the ring 20lbs heavier! How do British boxers expect to compete at the Elite level when they will enter the ring at least 8lbs lighter than the opposition? I've never understood why British fighters don't push their bodies as hard (and drain down) as boxers the other side of the Atlantic do. It clearly pays off. Just my observation
cause its not safe?? sooner or later a high profile fighter is gunna drain to far to fast and they are gunna suffer for it. Its not morally right anyway just look at Gatti V Gamache difference is scary there should be a rehydrate limit to a pound of 2 below the division above so fighters don't drain down all the way but have so room to hydrate and stay healthy
He is extremely talented but has not become anywhere near the fighter we thought he could become. Good luck to him though.
