Anyone defending Fury at this point needs to have their heads checked, heavyweight boxing is a joke at the moment, the top guys won’t fight each other nor will they fight anyone else. They’re wasting their best year with inactivity.

Yep. Even though the standard would drop Id like the top 4 or 5 to retire and give some of the others a chance. For example I saw something the other day where Hyrgovic said he'd go to China and rematch Zhang, citing personal problems for his showing last time. OK hes been inactive himself but if he is serious that would be a start.

People give Usyk too much of a soft ride on here for his own inactivity.

Agreed to fight Fury for 30% calling his bluff before Fury ducked, clearly running out of reasons not to fight.

Fought Joshua twice without any problems or hesitation.

A true warrior in my eyes who cleared out the Cruiserweight Division and only Fury's ducking stopped him from attempting to achieve one of the best legacies in the sport of boxing.

Not saying he would beat Fury but he sure wanted the fight badly.

Unless Fury news pops up in my feed about him announcing an actual fight I just don't read it any more. You just know the news will be yet another let down. I was buzzing for Fury when he won the titles. Thinking to myself here we have a skilled giant with the gift of the gab on par with Ali and he's only in his mid 20's and he'll fight anybody while being as active as possible. We're going to be spoilt rotten for top fights for the next decade. What a pile of shiit that turned out to be.

Not debating any of that but he’s fought once a year for the past 4 years and his last fight was 9 months ago with no fight news on the horizon. Does he just get a pass forever because the Fury fight didn’t happen.

Usyk fights Briedis, Gassiev and Bellew in Latvia, Russia and the UK in 10 months in 2018. He then fights Witherspoon in 11 months time in 2019. Understandable delay since he was moving up from Cruiserweight to Heavyweight.

Then scheduled to fight Chisora in May 2020 6 months later but Covid hits. This is rescheduled to October 31 2020. He is now mandatory for Anthony Joshua so has to wait for a deal to be done.

I remember there was a bit of a delay but the fight was made for September 2021. But there’s a rematch clause so he has to wait 11 months until August 2022 for the rematch against Joshua. This wasn’t Usyk’s fault. There was also talk of Joshua stepping aside to allow Usyk Fury for the Undisputed to happen but talks collapsed.

I don’t understand how you could expect Usyk to fight anymore during this period. He last fought Joshua the second time on 20 August 2022. Usyk was ready to fight Fury in in early part of 2023. The concrete date was April 29, but we know what happened on Fury’s side there.

Then the WBA mandatory was called. Daniel Dubois was ordered to fight Usyk. Both Krassuyk and Warren didn’t want to make a deal since they would lose money from staging the fight. So they are waiting for purse bids at the end of the May. Again not Usyk’s fault.

This is in contrast to Fury who only has one belt and has recently fought his mandatory in Whyte at the end of April in 2022. He only fought Chisora in December which was a gimmick fight and has nothing on the table since then. Remember that April 29 he could have still fought on that date if he really wanted to against someone other than Usyk.

Ngannou is the stand-out fight for Fury. Would be a huge fight.

Boxing's Heavyweight Champion vs MMA's Heavyweight Champion.

    Would be a huge spectacle.

He's going to beat the gap toothed little middleweight Usyk, then the big stiff body builder Joshua, then Jon Jones in MMA, then fight 10 times a year because he's a fighting man who loves it and give all his earnings to charity while he's at it. Blah blah blah.

Just fight Usyk for stfu and go away ffs.

He's a loud mouth and brash but in no way is he even in the same realm as Ali in terms of charisma charm chat and gab. Ali was original, one of a kind, probably once in a lifetime. Fury sounds recycled and a bit immature to me, a bit to school yard, I don't hear much originality from Fury personally that would put him anywhere near Ali.

That being said, there are some awesome moments when Fury is authentic, and he displays some raw emotion after certain wins, some great post fight displays and some genuine care for the people around him. I do believe he is an ATG fighter......just needs to clean up a little more.
