Mitchy will be raging - if we apply his own contextless bias analysis that he uses against Fury to this, then it blows his entire agenda out of the water
Hopefully the AJ fight gets made for December. No reason why not. Split the purse 50/50 and get it done - and host the fight in the UK so the fans can see it.
Yeah, ever since Usyk became a heavyweight, he needs like a year to prepare even if the opponent is Chazz. Unlike his cruiser career where he used to fight even three times a year, but it's easier to blame Fury, right? 1. If Fury calls Joshua - it's too early after AJ's loss 2. If Fury calls Usyk - it's too early after his last fight 3. If Fury calls someone out of top 5 - he's ducking big fights 4. If Usyk calls Fury right after his AJ fight - Fury should accept without having the right to ask for a date, only Usyk can have that right It seem the only choice Fury has is to accept all the blame and whatever he's told to.
Or just sit around and wait for Usyk to be ready. Fury can fight in December and then fight Usyk in March/April - what’s wrong with that. Fury wants to be active
So now he's obliged to sit and wait - why? He can have a fight and then arrange the one with Usyk or it's only Fury that has to wait, but not Usyk? So far it seems that the standards are 100% double in favor of Usyk. Yes, my point: can have a fight around December with whoever agrees, then go with Usyk. Nothing wrong with that, nothing wrong if he fights someone from top 10. Who did Usyk fought as a heavy in order to have a title shot right away practically - Chazz and Chisora, this is a joke.
Definitely double standards. He can fight anyone he wants in December if Usyk comes next. Would love it to be AJ but if it’s a tick over then what’s the harm
Another thing that makes the situation hard for a good opponent is that he already fought some of the top 10, others are busy with fights or recently got one. So it's not really his fault, little all "ducking".
Boxing fans such as us always have something to say, it's hard to remain unbiased when you're rooting for a one fighter over another.. However Furys Joshua call out is a "hold me back" moment..... Not something that we as the public can take seriously because all the variables involved.
I’m as unbiased as they come but I would never take Fury’s word over two proven fighting men and straight shooters like Usyk and big AJ.
The point is to be fair in what we ask from the one and the other which is not the cause with Fury and Usyk. Plus the situation with the good opponents available the upcoming months and the overall activity of the fighters nowadays. At least he called him out, Joshua can return with something like "maybe not in December, but will be waiting for you in August/October/whatever 2023".
Absolutely. No way does Joshua deserve a 50-50 split now. It would be interesting to see what Joshua's PPV numbers would be like if he took his next fight against 'a top 15 fighter'. Now he has left Sky and lost 3 of the last 5 fights I don't think he is as big a draw as some people think. Sure, if he fought Wilder or Fury he would get big numbers but I think his tide has turned and he won't sell out stadiums on his name alone.
