If Fury was contemplating retirement then give him time but he’s repeatedly confirmed that he HAS retired so the WBC should be allowed to look for a new champion. Obviously we all know Fury hasn’t retired but it would be interesting to see if the WBC are willing to put their vacant belt up for an Usyk v AJ undisputed clash. No loss to Fury if he’s made ‘champion emeritus’ unless the winner is Usyk who then promptly retires as a 2 weight undisputed ATG super duper champion.

Fighters have been doing same thing for long time. Muhammad Ali retired after almost every fight when he was champion in 1970s. I think WBC just want to see if they can get the title back to Wilder.

Fury’s activity on insta does not make it seem like he’s done. He’s still training every day and just did 10 rounds sparring.
