Touted great fights never tend to be but if anyone can give us a great fight it's Usyk and Fury because they're so spiritually strong and indomitable. I think both will be able to handle each others punches also so even if they get clipped they will survive.
I don’t doubt that. Huge fan of both. And Wilder. And Joshua. Think they’ve all done wonders for the division. Im just frustrated that there hasn’t been a lot more mix and matching between fighters. Joshua and Usyk aside, there’s been too much filler and padding.
I’ve been on this forum for years letting everyone know Wilder was hot garbage. I feel quite vindicated. No way around it - Fury has had a brutal year. The bloom is off the rose with his career as well. The embarrassment of the Ngannou fight now coupled with Otto and Tay being destroyed. you can try to dance around it, with A beats B but doesn’t beat C logic, but it just doesn’t look good for Fury. 6 months ago I would of said he doesn’t need the Usyk win to cement his legacy now I think he badly needs it. He’s a bad loss from tumbling way down in the history books.
Juicesha fans screaming from the rooftops Fury and Aj have 3 common opponents and Fury beat 2 easier, while Aj obviously beat Walin much easier Fury is going to beat Usyk in February. Enjoy your 2 months of 'glory' as Aj beat yet another stylistic dream with no power Fury will be come undisputed, while juicesha gets chinned by the first decent puncher he faces
Whyte was the WBC mandatory or No.1 contender for ages, it's ridiculous to say "no one wanted to see it". It was highly anticipated at the time and although 80%+ thought Fury would win, 50% thought it would at least be a difficult fight for Fury. Wilder was favoured to beat Fury in fights 1 and 2. Joshua and the Hearns were not going to America to fight Wilder, especially after Joshua got destroyed by a 25-1 fringe contender on his American debut. They wanted to age Wilder out, "marinate", let him get beaten if possible. Chisora 1 was favoured to beat Fury, Wlad was a huge favourite and Fury signed to fight big favourite Haye coming off the Cunningham fight, it's not Fury's fault that Haye ducked 7 days out with his cut excuse. Objectively Fury's been the underdog in more fights than any top HW since Holyfield.
Minus the chin. I always thought Parker would KO Wilder. But their resumes has showed us that Parkers power was overrared and Wilders chin underrated.
Fury's performances against Cunningham, Pajkic, Wallin, and Firtha always looked extremely bad. Fact is he has never beaten anyone good who was anywhere near prime. He certainly ducked quite a few though.
I just take them for who they are. They're two guys that definitely added excitement to the heavyweight division and I was happy to see them fight.
Wilder isn't Faded, this is same Wilder performances we have been acustom to for years. The only difference is that get out of jail right hand didn’t land this time because he was against a proven world level boxer in Parker. Wilder has never beaten proven legit world level boxer. The overhype of Wilder was ridiculous and the most overrated and protective HW of all time. In reality his the American Chisora, whenever he steps to legit proven world level boxer he would fall short. Fury attempting to hype up Wilder as his best win when he was was just a protected fighter that avoided the best in the division. Obviously Wlad was Fury best win and Whyte his second best win (Whyte has a far better record than Wilder beating Parker, Rivas and Chisora). Fury fans were hyping up Wallin so much they were predicting he would beat AJ or saying Wallin would be AJ's best win after Wlad. All because Wallin caused Fury all sorts of problems, busted him open (had there not been so much money riding on rematch with Wilder, Wallin would of won due to the cut). In reality it was a very easy night's work for AJ who battered Wallin and stopped him. In reality Wallin is the AJ 7th best opponent after Wlad, Povetkin, Whyte, Parker, Ruiz and Pulev.
But 40 years old Klitschko was in his prime. But 39 years old Ortiz was in his prime when he faces WIlder, right ? Age is always a huge factor, but more is the style. And Wilder style is very good for his age. Same for Fury actually. You can't say the same for Usyk, where it's all about physical attributes. But you are beyond biased, so there is no need to explain anything to you.
Usyk is better in his mid 30`s than Wilder was, he trains better than any fighter in the world so his body is in better condition than most older heavyweights, Fury`s body is a mess.
We tend to overrate guys when they win and underrate them when they lose. We tend to pretend father time doesn't exist and that boxing is a young man's game.
