They'll both be 6 feet under, and the promotors will still be like, "we need to let this marinate more."

Could it have been made had Fury wanted it right now, yes definitely. But not sure I'd call it a duck just yet. Fury is coming off back to back losses, he might simply want some time out with his family.

Now if he makes a fight with someone else who is deemed inferior, when AJ fight is available and the fight is still in demand, then yeah we can call it a duck.

He is afraid of getting knocked out by Big Bad Femi.

Lads, Fury retired! An AJ fight doesn’t even make sense. If he wanted any fight then surely he want the guy that very comfortably slapped AJ around… Dubois

You call signing a contract ducking? Now that's some delusion right here.

So it makes Fury more of a bum for ducking him.

Fury isn't ducking him. There are about 6 or 7 men ahead of AJ in line. Fury ain't got no time for a bodybuilding bum. Every time they got close to fighting AJ found a way to lose or get chinned.

Fury would never live it down if he got nailed by Joshua. And it’s really not implausible that he wouldn’t. Of course he’s not taking that fight.

At this point, it will be no loss if they don't fight each other. It's not even a relevant fight now. It's almost at the level of Brook Vs Khan, a fun fight but with little meaning.

I always find it very funny when I see a thread claiming someone is ducking AJ.
Do we mean the AJ that has no interest in rematching Dubois? The AJ that had no interest in a Ruiz trilogy.

The same man that somehow couldn’t ever seem to arrange a fight with either Wilder or Fury in their primes.

AJ hasn’t won a big fight in years. He should really focus on rematching Dubois.

I don't know about ducking or if that is even fair to say?
I do feel however that he likes things to be a certain way when taking certain fights like assuring he is ready and focused rather than just going into them at a set time

For example. Where Fury has everything to gain and nothing to lose the fights seem to happen
So challenging champions away where If he won, he wins world titles away, but if he loses he was an underdog willing to take a chance

When he had tough fights where he had something to lose (world title) there seemed to be delays. I don't know if that is coincidental or not.

Rematch with Wladimir (when supposed to be defending titles) in the UK was delayed and didn't happen

First defense against Wilder (when making first defence) was delayed

    Defence/unification with Usyk was delayed

I think he relinquished the British and Commonwealth titles when Price was the next in line but may be incorrect

The delays I think gives someone time to do things on their own terms and delay to suit them rather than taking tough defence after tough defence which creates more opportunity to lose or have slip ups

I don't think there was any delay in the defences against Chisora or Whyte that I can recall

It's not a slur as I rate Fury very highly and think he is an incredible HW
I am a bigger fan of Fury than I am Joshua but do think it must be tougher to make continuous defences against top 10 rated competition than pick and choosing the right fight at the right time, delaying and not defending the titles as often
If you see what I mean?

With a fight against Joshua at this time I think there is alot to lose
    Maybe timing will be everything
He called Joshua out at short notice when Joshua was coming off his 2nd loss to Usyk, so wonder if it may come down to the fight happening at the right time for Fury
I don't imagine Fury taking the fight next after the losses to Usyk

I don't have much faith that a Fury \ AJ fight will happen. Fury has a track record of NOT taking fights that fans want to see - or fights which would help.to cement his legacy. He is just not inclined to do so unless he is pushed or massively compensated financially.
So I have never been optimistic about it. As an aside, I do find it odd that there hasn't been much talk of a Fury - Dubois fight? Especially as DD beat AJ, he has a belt AND they're both Frank Warren fighters. Seems like it would be a natural one to make. Maybe Warren is keeping them apart ...
