Joe Joyce on The Furious One. You’ve sparred Tyson Fury, how do you think he’ll do in his comeback? Joyce: ''Especially looking at footage of him doing pads, he’s looking really quick and slick and that’s what he is. It would be a nightmare to spar him when he’s in good shape. Because he’s a nightmare to spar even when he’s 25 stone out of shape.''
enlighten us then. other than a bore fest in the worst title fight ever, what exactly has the clown done? avoided a rematch. avoided anyone with size or power on the way up. he is a clown.
fury ducked his way to a title fight. he has no chin, little power and greatly overrated skills. he never thought he'd beat wlad, thus ran to the hills. has no intention of fighting anyone worth a damn should he return. other than a big money send off fight.
down from guys with zilch power. he also ducked any decent guy with size or power his entire career, until his cashout fight. he accidentally won that and ran for the hills like few duckers before.
bum as pajkic had tons of problems. fury chased him, because he had a good record, no skill, and no power.
Overrating is the natural state of things when most people don't have adequate information to properly rate stuff.
Finally some sanity on this forum. Fury is not as good as people make him out to be and, IF, he comes back he’ll lose against the Top 3 and people will blame it on his ban. Being banned was the best thing that could of happened to Fury, now he didn’t have to lose his titles and can always say “if I wasn’t banned I would still be the champ”.
The longer Fury stays out of the game the less relevant he becomes in my opinion. He’s literally proven nothing since his win versus Wlad. If you respect this sport you won’t mention his champ status until he starts to maintain and defend it. That said he’s certainly a top player and a good fighter, I’m not being passive aggressive here just tired off all talk surrounding how good he is for a big man yet he doesn’t fight and has milked his fans and the title for several years now.
Fury is better than the majority of people thought he was prior to the Klitschko fight but nowhere near as good as he’s become in people heads since. It winds me up. This is a guy whose only had 5 fights since December 2012, a single world championship fight against a declining, unmotivated and distracted champion that was an absolute stinker of titanic proportions. He ducks out of the rematch and later takes a suspension for PEDs. Factor in that Fury was dropped by both Cunningham and Pajkic and should NEVER have got the gift decision over John McDermott in their first fight and you have one of the most overrated heavyweights in history.
There comes a point in every athletes career when then hit a physical and mental inconsistency a detachment and while Wlad was still a dangerous and very capable fighter versus Fury he wasn’t the optimal force he was months later when he faced Joshua.
