Cotto started lookin tired and Trout looked fresh It was worth £20 at least why do i have to be broke :|
Haha I wish this was WBC rules where they shout the scores out every 3 rounds! I'd have been all over it!
I said from day one that his move to 154 was a bad idea although tonight, I think it was more due to the fact that he's on the slide and was in against a quality boxer with a difficult style for Cotto to deal with.
Hes definitely on the slide but the size different was huge they didnt look the same weight division in the ring Cotto should go to welterweight and fight Guerrero
Cotto been shot for a while now, last night he was even slower. I stand by my comments and people made fun of me, at 147 Khan would do a number on Cotto if Khan boxed sensible.
Bollocks. He's 32 and his last fight was pretty rough. He's on the slide and had been fortunate to be fighting guys who were really welters going up in weight. Against a genuine LMW he just didn't have the physicality to compete. People will still make fun of you because it's a stupid prediction. Khan cannot box sensibly. It's not in him, he admitted as much in Boxing Monthly. Anyway, I hope he takes a victory lap sort of fight and calls it a day. I have no desire to see him getting messed up by guys he'd have handled comfortably in the past.
Personally I think people are wrong when they say Cotto is washed up or whatever I don't think he EVER would have beaten a guy like Trout
Well this is Khan's last chance to show he can adjust and box to a plan, and as I said if he done that he would beat this version of Cotto Khan would be plain too fast for this Cotto even at 147. Its how boxing works young fighters prey on older fighters at the right time. I know this fight won't happen as Khan got he own rebuilding to do and he still at 140.
Just watched it now. Fell asleep, woke up at about half 4 when the fight was nearly over Scored it 9-3 for Trout. That was damn impressive from Trout, what I was most impressed about was how he more than held his own on the inside. He really made his size tell. Cotto just couldn't find an answer, he was getting outboxed from range and not having enough success at mid or close range. Just too small plus he's past his best. It's worth remembering that Cotto did not have to take this fight at all. Trout was some unknown, awkward guy and Cotto at this stage of his career could take on anyone he wanted and no one could really complain but credit to him for taking on a challenge like that.
