    I think the mentality is "if I pay Wilder $5 million not to fight, every time I try to make a fight there will be someone with a weak case coming to get their step aside check." It's like paying ransom or extortion money, they'll just come back for more.

    Given Arum's age it's probably worth the risk, but I kind of get it.
