The daft thing is that promoters might actually make more money. No paying for crap journeymen or Eurobums, put the two prospects in against each other. Not every fighter can reach the top, you might as well find out which one is which - it will certainly give our domestic titles more value too. That's the main thing for me, our British title is little more than a souvenir these days, fighters vacating all over the place. If a lad vacates the title he should face some kind of sanction, such as a ban on contesting it or something. Being domestic level is nothing to be ashamed of, it's just that ''domestic level'' represents a lot of people, when many of them aren't much better than area level in truth.

Well its been an interesting enough fight to watch. O'Donnell was in with a well skilled opponent tonight who knows all about going the distance, was always gonna be hard to break this guys defence. Expected a bit more invention from Cauthen but its been a good test for O'Donnell who has a big lead on my card. Does anyone know about this Jennings-O'Donnell fight? Whens that set for? What if Jennings loses to Brook?

Any non-title fight the ref can score over here, you just don't see many 12 rounders in UK where no belt at all is on the line.
Tidy card and two interesting fights. O'Donnell-Jennings I seriously doubt we will see that maybe later this year but no way that goes down in October.
Hopefully they pick up a few more Shobox cards, even if they're on later it would be another reason to subscribe.

Yes, ****in yes!!! That's exactly the way I feel about boxing at the moment. I don't know how it could happen but that's the way boxing should be done. Maybe you shouldn't be able to get to European before you've proved you are the best in your country, and can't get to world until you are the best in the Europe. It's an ideal world though, where there would be 1 world champion (who would be a household name, instead of the unknown champs we have now) and contenders earn their shots properly.
To be honest, only one of them would be the ''prospect''. The other would have found his level. People like Carl Dilks to me aren't prospects, they are domestic gatekeepers - he got a Commonwealth shot having beaten absolutely nobody. DeGale is going to hammer him, as would Groves, Smith and Quigley. The crap 7-189-11 journeymen shouldn't be fighting, training in the gym perhaps but not licensed as professionals. It's embarrassing for the sport. We've had it in the local rugby leagues recently with a team full of semi pros insisting on fulfilling their fixtures in Pennine League 6 - winning 120 nil every week..... a typical boxing card is much the same, which is a problem. Less focus needs to be placed on the titles, and more on the people that are fighting/fighting for them - who they are, what they've achieved and so on. There's definitely an audience for boxing, but people can't be arsed learning to understand all the shite that comes with it.
