Well, his last fight looked very Valuev in style. Gone was Fury's movement, speed and angles and instead just looked like an old, tall, fat bloke plodding around the ring and slightly out working the other nonsense contender to win a razor thin decision. Very Valuev indeed.
Never said Valuev was an atg although Browne was decent 10 years ago when on the juice. The point is Fury looked shot to bits against Ngannou and was dropped heavily. No danger Ngannou drops Valuev imo, even the 36 y/o Haye version.
Fury scraped past the very worst version of Wlad that ever fought, ducked rematch, then struggled against Wilder, then beat him twice. That is his resume. It is a joke compared to how he is portrayed by his blind fans. AJ, and potentially Usyk soon, will have better resumes.
Yes, beating two of the most dominant heavyweight champions of the 21st century (Wlad and Wilder) ... neither of whom had lost in 11 years ... who entered the ring with Fury with a combined 28 straight successful heavyweight title defenses ... was certainly "creative matchmaking." You beat two of the most dominant champions of your era ... both of whom are on top-ten, all-time rolls (18 straight defenses for Wlad, 10 straight for Wilder) ... and you're "clearly" a hypejob. Honestly, Fury beating Usyk next month won't be as impressive as Fury knocking off Wlad and Wilder and ending their reigns. Those two were actually dominant heavyweight champs and Fury's already won all of Usyk's belts. They're in his trophy case at home.
The shot Haye landed on Valuev would do more than wobble Fury. Thankfully for Fury Usyk doesn't have quite the same tnt or velocity on his punches.
A good combination by Usyk when Fury is exhausted could be enough to drop him imo. He dropped Dubois with a jab and he rocked AJ in the first fight after the 10th. However, I prectict Usyk will school Fury. He will outbox him and win by decision.
Yeah, that's how I see it. Unless Fury can turn back the clock the Cat will play with him same as he did Joshua.
Regardless of if he wins the Usyk fight, Fury is levels above Valuev as is his resume. Like him or not he’s a guaranteed hall of famer for most and will be remembered as one of the best of this era (if not as the best).
Yes, it's been a popular thread topic for people trying to get front running views and comments for about a year. MorvidusStyle is spot on regarding the double standards against Fury. By comparison AJ is a Teflon athlete. He's 1-3 vs tub of lard Ruiz & beefed up CW Usyk 2X. Has a modest 3 fight winning streak and all of a sudden is considered one of the top two HWs Amazing.
Very 'creative' matchmaking. First, fight the guy who hasn't lost in 11 years and has 18 successful title defenses and counting on his home turf .... beat him for all his belts and the Ring Championship ... Then fight the guy who hasn't lost in 11 years and has 10 successful title defenses and counting on his home turf ... for his belt and, once again, the Ring Championship. That'll "fool" everyone. Now he's fighting for the Ring Championship and for all the belts he's already won before ... against another guy who hasn't lost in 10+ years. More 'creative' matchmaking, I guess. What a 'hypejob.' Seriously, what an idiotic comment.
