You made the point that fury beat vlad in his backyard and I’m saying so did brown, most fighters win a belt off a champion in their home country, it’s nothing special that fury beat vlad in Germany.

You live in hypotheticals - he never beat AJ nor Haye, you can't give "could haves" and "would haves" and put them forward as deserved resumes

Browne and Chageav have nothing to do with this convo. Those two fighters would struggle to be in the top 15 of today's HW's in their primes.

Don't know why Fury's win over Wlad is being diminished here?

I’m taking issue with you and others making out that fury beating vlad in his backyard somehow makes his victory more impressive, when in fact most champions fight on home turf and lose their titles on home turf, I used brown as an example of someone who won a heavyweight title on another’s home turf.
I also don’t rate fury’s win over vlad that highly as it the worst fight I’ve ever seen, fury stunk out the joint, vlad was well old and lacking in motivation.
Looking at the shape fury is in at 35 do you think he would be significant win for someone when he is 40?

While I think comparisons to Valuev are a bit unfair (in terms of resume and achievements) I agree with the sentiment of a lot of posters ... Fury should've done so much more. I think a win over Usyk will do a lot to lift his reputation historically. A loss will really damage it further.

Never built a solid career says the OP? He's had a better-than-solid career already.
I think he will be looked back upon as erratic, skilled and a nightmare head-to-head with a bit of underwhelming reign as champion

    Usyk (should Fury win)
    Wlad
    Wilder
    Whyte

Are all decent wins in one respect or another. 2 ATG, and undated if largely untested puncher, Whyte who had beaten enough good fighters to deserve a shot.

It's missing a few AJ being the biggest and he has defo wasted the last year or two with Chisora Fight 3 (needless) and the Ngannu circus.
But far way and above a solid career.

He's much closer to Riddick Bowe.

Fury's wins over Wlad and Wilder 2 were arguably either the best HW performances ever or in donkey's years depending on which you prefer.

Fury is a much better boxer than Valuev. Uglier too.
