Good tuneup fight.................Fury has been out of the ring for a long time, so he needs a couple easy fights before fighting Joshua, but he should go ahead and knock Wilder out first, but Wilder would refuse to fight him!

I'm not sure about this one. :) Briggs needs money, and if not by boxing how else would he get it..?

I'll be cheering for Briggs. It would be LOL if gramps beats down fats.

The same thing can be said about Fury or any other boxer, but Briggs represents the future of boxing.
A Longer boxing career is not as bad as crimes-drinking-drugs problems.

I'll wait to see how Tyson has celebrated Christmas and the New Year. He's been quiet on instagram this past 10 days which probably means he's eaten enough mince pies to expand and completely fill a boxing ring by himself.

What?? Are you even serious? Fury is 29-30 years old (it's quite prime for any boxing weight category, espesially for the heavyweight) and Briggs is 46...
    Yes, that's obviously true.

I like Briggs, I want him to have his pay day where he can retire, and he seems like a good fella, but i'll be cheering the gypsy king purely because his British !

In terms of entertainment and promotion the build up would be immense and get both fighters a lot of attention.

In terms of the fight, Fury TKO in 3 rounds.

This doesn't need to be delayed until April. Can happen in Feb or March and a fat Fury should have more than enough to KO a shot and roided Briggs

Are we really sure he is? If I would stand next to Fury, and you would ask random people who of us is the older/younger guy, I'm pretty sure most will believe him to be be older as I am. And I'm 44!

Yeah Briggs has paid his dues over a long career, I too would want Briggs to have one final good pay day to retire on. With the way his people screwed him over the Vitali fight after taking such a beating he should have some luck come his way for once and a nice payday vs Fury would be one way to do it.

I too would be rooting for Fury, probably for the first time ever. I want that AJ/Fury showdown to happen, I think a fit Fury is the only one that can really test Joshua now that Wlad has retired.

Sure why not. Let Fury eat his roided up boars, and let Briggs use his preferred blend.

Lol, Fury hasn't aged well true. Prematurely bald and being so overweight will definitely make you look older than you really are.

Fury at 29 is already past prime. Lack of self discipline, inactivity and mental health issues will all have seen him age in boxing terms much faster than he should have. Bowe remember was shot at 28. Now Fury hasn't had the wars Bowe did but a few tough fights and we may see Fury look shot, even if he goes on to beat Joshua you can't expect him to reign for long, he'd probably retire right after or very soon after beating Joshua.

Actually, I'm also surprised that he's only 30. :) But that's just a lesson — alcohol, excessive eating and (occasionally) drugs don't make a person younger. :)

Good post. You look back over the years at fighters that have bloated up stupidly between fights and its ruined them prematurely. Hatton had a cracking chin until he was training to make weight as much as working on stuff, and it just went down hill, getting wobbled by everyone. As you say, Bowe was blatantly lazy between fights. Athletes don't have fridges in their bedrooms, only lazy slobs, which Bowe had and was
