Parker is tied up with chisora, Ortiz is biding his time waiting to fight one of the champs. I don't know if you've watched Ortiz but he's hardly lighting the world up. He wobbled wilder sure but so did Molina. Can't comment for Rivas to be fair don't know a lot about him other than he fought and beat Jennings (who's a bit past his best and was never a world beater either) Kowanaki would be a good fight... Given that his management team would feed him to the lions so soon. Would like to see that fight I'll give you that, but is his record much better then Schwartz? Or have you just heard of some of his opponents. Are you really saying you'd like to see Fury Kabayel? That's some great fight to you. People on here are right about you. You'll say anything to suit your agenda. I'm saying it's not that bad a fight and you're expectations are unrealistic. You can only really fight the same fighter twice and 3 times if the results differ, how many great fights would you say each boxer can expect to have. Bearing in mind Ali has about 3 fights he is really remembered for to the casuals around the world. And he's considered the best ever.
I really don't see aj struggling in that fight, I pray I'm wrong but I see miller being put on about 3 stretchers and rushed to the hospital about 18 minutes into that fight having his head bounced about the ring and his ribs broken into his fat guts but he might surprise me. This is part and parcel of boxing **** fights happen. 3 currently are
My God is Hayers still talking about Tyson Fury? He calls people on here 'fanboys' and proceeds to spend his life talking about a fighter he hates. The irony. Go out for a few pints Tony and stop thinking about Tyson Fury for an hour. It'll do you and the rest of the forum the world of good.
I agree with you Tony but it’s ironic I made the same argument to you when Miller fight was announced, you basically where saying who else could aj fight and acting like if it’s not wilder or fury people would complain either way. Don’t get me wrong miller is a lot better fight than schwarz is.
I'm not saying anything to suit my agenda. I'm saying independent rankings have Schwartz miles lower than all those other names I've mentioned. That's not my agenda. In fact, I think certain people have a clear agenda when they try to pretend there's not much of a gap between the fighters ranked in the top six/seven/eight and a guy coming in at number 42 or wherever he is. No ranking system can be perfect but surely you'd say objectively it's a big question to ask why the so called lineal and best heavyweight in the world is fighting a guy ranked a whole ten places below Chris Arreola. I don't think any other sport would see fans think this way. 'Doesn't matter if Man City draw anyone else other than Liverpool in the cup. Wolves, Everton, Leicester. They're basically no different to Rotherham.' Course mate.
I believe my point was to ask who was available who AJ hadn't already beaten? Ortiz and Pulev were both signed up to fight. He's already beaten Whyte, Povetkin, Parker and Breazeale. Fury and Wilder were supposedly tied up with their rematch. There really weren't that many names who could be suggested. That's just not the case here. There are loads of fighters better than Schwarz. And, Fury has a huge gap in his CV for those sort of fighters. He's been a pro ten years, and for whatever reason, has fought two genuinely big names, and after that? The best name by far is Chisora.
Nope your point mainly was that people would complain either way and that miller was better fight than Whyte (witch I don’t agree with) but I do agree that if those 3 aren’t fighting eachover people are going to complain. People were turning there nose up at fury fighting Parker as his first fight on espn witch is obviously miles better than the fight were left with. Yeah there is a massive drop off from the top 2 names on fury’s resume it seems to be just the way he likes to operate almost all or nothing, not a good sign for his espn deal. He needs to start fattening up his resume not just his wallet and his waist line. If he can’t get aj or wilder then get the pulevs ortiz’s the parkers the whytes ( Would be tough deal to make).
I believe Whyte is a tougher fight than Miller but I stand by the point that if you're looking to sell AJ to an American audience, have him fight abroad and so on, you're better served with a brash, loud, reasonably highly ranked American opponent who he hasn't beaten than a guy he's already knocked unconscious. Whyte deserves a shot at someone; I just feel that it's a slight hard sell against Joshua because of their previous fight. Rest of your post makes perfect sense. Would Fury beat Whyte, Povetkin, Parker and so on? Yeah, he probably would. But would they be more interesting fights than Schwarz? Almost certainly. Would they all beat Schwarz? I think so.
Don't get me wrong I think it's crap, but it doesn't upset me. Look at Khan brook, mayweather pac. The fights you want to see are the ones the promoters leave till last. I think 2 will lose before we finally see the top 3 fight.
I think you are very much underrating Miller here. First off he has beaten Duaphas,Wach,Washington,Dinu and Kassi so he is far more proven than Schwarz.Secondly his record justifies a top 10 ranking and the eye test tells us he is a relentless, high punch output 300lb plus heavyweight. Different league to Schwarz.
I hear this guy is number two in the rankings for one of the alphabet baubles the chinny robot fished out the bin after fury chucked them? If so does this make fury mandatory for big iosh and how do ajs team duck this one?
Okay let's get to the nitty gritty. Who has Miller beaten who has proven themselves to be that much better than Schwartz. Why can't aj fight kabayel, Ortiz, Kowanaki, Rivas, even pulev. Have you seen Schwartz or have you only heard of him via this fight. Do you think fury is saying, well this Schwartz guy is number 2 with the wbo, but a independent ranking body has him at 42. So even though this fight will make me mandatory, I'm better of fighting someone like Rivas. You've got a clear bias towards matchroom. You'd probably defend Eddie selling the British boxing boom to America. And what the **** are you talking about football for? If I was to humour that point I'd say the Swansea city game was so entertaining because it was meant to be a walk over for city but they had to come back from 2 behind. Which suits my point that just because these guys aren't ranked highly doesn't mean they won't show up to win. I'm not saying anyone is fighting a particularly great match in comparison to the other, just they are all in underwhelming fights, you keep saying who else could AJ fight. Personally I don't go much on rankings, I watch fighters and think styles make fights. If not I'd be saying chisora is the best heavy weight because he iced Takam and Joshy could only get a tko. But it's not really how it works is it.
Fury doesn’t want to be mandatory.I am not sure why people don’t understand this. He wants pay parity.
Jesus. Joshua will have just fought Miller,Povetkin,Parker,Takam,Klitschko and Braezeale back to back. You mention why not Pulev? Yet he was scheduled to fight him. Fury has Schwarz,Wilder,Pianeta and Seferi. How do people even begin to try to criticise the Miller fight? Even if you don’t rate him it’s perfectly justifiable and acceptable considering. Also this fight doesn’t make him WBO mandatory.
Fury is the one who’s pulled out of mandatory title shots (plural). Whyte is #1 and in waiting so I’d assume the WBO will mandate him or create a final eliminator between him and Fury. Meanwhile the WBO rules state that Usyk has to automatically become mandatory so regardless of Fury winning this he would probably be 18 months / 2 years away from being mandated.
