https://www.dazn.com/en-US/news/box...ve-been-vaccinated/1t3w7hpwpkl4c1gxpdcauglody Three weeks ago: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has said his fighter Teofimo Lopez should have had a Covid-19 vaccine. While Arum is confident that Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder is not subject to the same vulnerabilities, Arum implied that the unified lightweight champion had been irresponsible. “We tell all our fighters – you guys are fighting for big money and promoters are laying out big money,” Arum said. “Get yourself vaccinated, so you don’t [contract] the COVID. Now, you take the two fighters here, Fury is totally vaccinated. And I talked with [manager] Shelly Finkel a little while ago, and he said that Wilder’s been fully vaccinated. And their corners have been vaccinated. That’s taking responsibility.” "When we first went into the bubble last June, and we had every other fight with a guy getting COVID because nobody really knew how to handle it. But now, with the vaccination, anybody gets COVID. Shame on them. Shame on them because they hadn’t taken the time, or they hadn’t, for some crazy reason, decided not to get vaccinated. That’s nuts!”
I don't. I just hate over the top Fury fans. One minute Fury will destroy Wilder without any training. Come right off the couch bla bla bla. Next they come up with a pre excuse, inactive, obese, mental issues. Now covid. LOL just on the outside chance Wilder sneaks one in on Fury, the excuse has been floating around for weeks. Very clever! Why do you like Fury? Never gave Wlad a rematch, held up the division for years, his best win since beating Wlad has been Wilder. Think about that. Wilder, the guy Fury fanboys love to hate, is their heros best win.
So does Fury actually have COVID or is it just members of his team? I noticed in recent videos that Fury doesn’t look to be in great shape...he’s never had the body of an Adonis, but he seems to be holding more fat around his midsection than at the same point in his training camps for prior fights. Anyone think there is a chance this postponement might be a tactic to buy him more time to get in better shape? Or maybe just to play mind games with Wilder?
Seems to me like a ploy on Fury's side. He was close to 300 pounds with 2 weeks left to train, he would have came in at a high weight and would have gotten knocked out. Now, with this he at least gets alot more time to get fit. I was lookimg foward to seeing if Fury can stop Wilder once again, shame i have to wait till most likely october to see it.
I am perennially surprised by just how much boxers do not want to box. I'm glad to find myself losing interest in this sport.
We can agree to agree on this, that is pretty hypocritical. The Fury fans talk trash about Wilder and call him a delusional bum but then claim Fury is the greatest H2H fighter of all time because he beat a 39 year old Klitschko and beat Wilder (who himself has only beaten dinosaur Ortiz) Klitschko was still elite at that point so credit to him and in terms of pure boxing it was a fine performance from the gypsy lord but besides that Fury's only good wins are Gatekeeper Chisora and one trick pony Wilder. Lennox Lewis beat Ruddock, Rahman, Bruno, Vitali, Golota, Tucker, Tua, and Mercer and past it but still skillful Holyfield. You can add Grant on there if you want because he beat Savares easily and he also beat Golota as well Their resumes are levels apart. Lennox Lewis H2H is the greatest. 6'5, 245 pounds. Big enough to mamhandle SHWs in his era like Golota, Grant, and Akinwande and in this era as well, And big enough to use his large size against the small cruiserweight like heavyweights from the distant past.
Agreed! I think picked Fury in the first fight, but wanted Wilder, same in the rematch and I want to see Wilder KO Fury in the 3rd installment. Probably get his head boxed off again. But the joy I would feel knowing all those over the top fanboys are heartbroken would be top notch. Reality is, Fury is just more skilled and has a higher ring IQ.
Cool but what excuses are you referring too in that other post ? The only potential excuses Fury made are when he was in negotiations with Joshua and mysteriously started complaining about his inactivity LOL. He or his fans haven't made any potential excuses for the Wilder fight yet, not that i know of
don’t do it, Especially this one, we’ve seen the 2 before it. Besides It will be on regular showtime or ESPN plus the following week. enjoy your take out!
Thanks man. I’m going to go ahead and put it in writing now that I won’t buy it. But I’ll be honest with you and let you know if I fall off the wagon and order it.
I hope those other three heavyweight fights on the card won't be postponed until October too. The promoters should let them go ahead on July 24.
Would like to know when/if the infected sparring partner was tested and what covid precautions they were taking. Pretty poor anyway,
