Fury vs Wilder III

I wouldn't hold out much hope. That's exactly what he needed to do to win in the first two fights and he didn't do it. I doubt the third fight will be any different

 

The good news is this will happen in July and AJ/Pulev in June. That sets up November/December undisputed fight in Saudi, where I believe the fight happens. (€400,000,000 Saudi offer been reported) At least UK fans will get to watch it primetime.

Please God now AJ has no issues with Pulev and likewise Fury with Wilder. It's twi fights the champions really should win. Usyk will stepaside no problem with the money floating around.

This may yet turn out to be the best year of boxing in decades.

 

Could get a little messy. I think Usyk will require a huge step aside fee for the WBO mandatory position as he’s already been promised Joshua after Pulev. I know Undisputed takes precedent but it’ll cost matchroom a few quid to soften the deal.

Fury and AJ will definitely have a rematch clause which pushes Usyk’s mandatory title shot back at least 12 months. At the beginning of 2021, the injury prone Usyk will be 35. Can he or will be prepared to wait? There also the WBC Whyte situation.

In a perfect world, AJ beats Pulev and Usyk in 2020 and Fury beats Wilder in July and Whyte in December.... we can dream

 

If Wilder wins, would there then be a fourth fight? Seeing as they would be all tied again

Will Fury and AJ definitely have a rematch? I'm not so sure. Matchroom may want one but Fury probably doesn't as he's been planning to retire after his last top rank fight for a while now. All his family want him to give up. Surely he doesn't have to sign a rematch clause? He's ring magazine champion now and richer than he ever could've dreamed. I don't think he'll be signing any rematch clause and why should he?

 

I can’t see Matchroom not protecting their investment. Then again, Fury may be planning on beating AJ and retiring anyway hence making any rematch clause null and void.

 

Matchroom can't dictate to Fury anymore. That moment has passed. He's no.1 in the division and will happily fight Dillan Whyte instead then retire. They've one chance to get Fury for undisputed and it'll be on terms he wants.

There is a chance. Absolutely. Although I think Fury is ready for two more fights and retirement and he may listen to his family and go with that. Paris wants him to fight AJ and retire. His dad the same. It's all his legacy needs. Although with the chance of dodgy scorecards etc, they may indeed want a rematch.

 

They should punt Fury/Wilder III over to Saudi and have the Fury/Joshua fight in the UK.

He'll probably sign one for much the same reasons he agreed to one with Wilder. Too much money not to do two fights.
Besides which, in the event that he absolutely pastes Joshua same way he did Wilder, Joshua might not be so quick to agree to a rematch. Especially if Fury plans to retire. If Fury retires, Joshua can easily pick up his titles again to become undisputed.

 

I would agree but put yourself in the fighters position. Hell of a lot of money to turn down.
