Can someone tell me how Hughie was allowed to fight in the UK for a World title and Tyson is the one suspended? Is Tyson out due to the cocaine and mental health admissions?

Correct. The suspensions were lifted but Tyson lost his licence when he admitted to taking cocaine and saying he had mental health issues.

That's easier said than done though, how much could Tyson have made in the time he's been out? 5, 10, 15 million? Would you just walk away from that? Not to mention the damage that's been done to his reputation. He's a sportsman that has a '' drugs cheat '' tag hanging over him. He should sue the ****ing life out of them if he is exonerated.

No they shouldn't drop it. If they just drop it they lose all credibility and there would be nothing to stop anyone ele dragging it out.

    I agree
The way I read the article tho was that UKAD wants to proceed they are worried they won't win so are in a catch 22 situation. It already sounds like they are struggling with costs already incurred. So its all a bit of a mess.
To me i think they have to push on to set an example but they should do so with all speed because if fury is found innocent then they have caused some unforgivable hold ups (which have then been exacerbated by Furys admissions to depression and coke use).

    I don't get this.

If UKAD would be afraid that they would get sued, they have quite a deck of cards to pull from.
    1) Fury did test positive at at least the A-Sample
    2) Fury tested positive on cocaine not much later
    3) Fury refused a annanounched random test, told them to F**K off. A big nono!
    4) Fury himself withdrew from the sport, citing mental issues.

Certainly that 4th point makes it that UKAD can't be held responsible for Fury's loss of income. because he did that to himself.
The other 3 points make it that they are well within the clear of suspending him if they want to. Refusing a test counts equal as failing a test.

Surely if their lawyers take one look at the situation, they can only see a slam dunk.

The stupid **** Fury could have been fighting under a Baltic union or Luxembourg licence a year ago.

Who knows why they are waiting to be endorsed by a boxing organisation and British establishment which holds them in utter contempt? And as this case proves is doing its best to keep Fury out of the ring for as long as possible....any suspension would have already been served and signed off on 6 months ago for Gods sake.

Perhaps it's a bit thick Mick who is to blame for not going down the obvious route here.

I agree but Furys lawyers could argue and I think rightfully that UKADs actions played a major role in the state of Tyson’s mental health and his resulting claims of retirement by etc. If he’s cleared of the charge relating to them I think they are in serious trouble. Regardless of that it more than smells that any organisation can ban you based on a test they have earlier stated in writing was a negative test. I expect UKAD to leave Tyson’s charge on record but not concluded and leave the bbofc to deal with his license so they are not admitting he was stopped from earning a living without just cause.

'' The Fury camp have claimed Ukad's position and the potential threat to its finances have led to the delays in the case being heard, and could influence any decision. ''

If you're the CEO of UKAD answerable to a government department and you realize you could potentially lose a case and be sued for 10+ Million what do you do? I don't think you would proceed with anything considering the yearly budget alone is 8 Million. You would have to discuss it with the government and then they would discuss it among themselves.

Parliament has basically been on holiday since July! It's could just be bureaucracy that's holding him up because someone potentially has to sign off on some expenditure.

Prime years being wasted by the government.

    Shades of Ali? :D
