Thing is mate there won't be any building up and then fighting 'top 10' opponents. It's 3 or 4 guys who have far less than 1% chance of winning, then Joshua (or Wilder if Wilder has beaten Joshua). Fury has already made that clear in a few interviews. For example from 10 mins in here... This content is protected "my plan is to beat Wilder and Joshua. the rest of them I'm not interested in, the rest of them are warm-up fights and comebacks / sharpening my tools" Makes sense. If he really has ruined himself, then better for everyone to find out in a fight where he's getting paid £20m rather than against someone 'decent' and for a fraction of that amount.
I didn’t have a name in my head, but this guy is absolutely shot, I mean KO’f of a shot Kevin Johnson. He’s ranked about 130 ok boxrec but in reality he’s not top 300! Dave Allen beats this guy, think they says enough. At the end of the, fury is literally telling us he is the NUMBER ONE boxer on the planet, so why’s he boxing ppl who can’t beat a fish? I like fury, I’m a fan, but these fights are an absolute joke. He’s literally living of the Klit win, and he’s waiting to cash out vs AJ.
I wonder if Hearn will try and make Fury fight Whyte first, before AJ, if that gets that far. Who would you have, in lets say 6 months time ?..Tyson or Whyte.
Whyte the most overrated boxer there is. Let’s not forget he actually lost to Chisora and has ducked a rematch despite it being wanted by the fans.
Let’s be honest here, whyte went life and death with chisora, while fury toyed with chisora twice An in shape fury beats whyte everyday of the week! He’s all wrong for him imo
Yeah Whyte could go 100 rounds with prime Fury without landing a meaningful punch. As for the new version of Fury, who knows.
This is it! Fury is not fighting anyone who puts the Joshua payday at risk. 3-4 bums and then a lot of screaming and shouting at Joshua (not dissimilar to Wilder). However, the difference is that Fury will bring some fans and money to the table so you are likely to see something like a 60:40 split to Joshua. Something Wilder is never going to sniff as he doesn't bring any money, only a belt. Even in the belt department, Fury can make claim to be the linial champ, which you are going to hear over and over and over again in the leadup to the Joshua fight.
If I am Hearn, this is the order of fights for Joshua after Povetkin: 1. Whyte in April 2019. Has to happen as early as possible if Whyte beats Parker as you want this fight when it is hot. Whyte loosing after Parker will take the heat out of this fight which is why it has to be done soon. Also earns as much if not more than Wilder in the UK. 2. Fury in September 2019. Fury will have had 3-4 bum fights by then and you cannot bet on Fury staying on the rails too long. This is the biggest money spinner of the lot. Even if 95% of the money is in England, this is much more than any Wilder fight which is outside the US. 3. Wilder in Jan 2020 as there are no other feasible opponents for Joshua then.
