    Parker was too negative.

Plenty of fighters manage to bounce back from bad losses and if anything Parker has probably taken more punishment than Wilder and been in more brutal fights. He was kayoed by Joyce not long ago, took considerable punishment vs Whyte, Chisora, etc.

    Exactly.

The same situation was in Wlad - Fury fight, and Wlad's haters tried to prove afterwards that Wlad at 39 and after 19-years-long pro career was in his prime.

Difference being Wlad beat some good fighters and Wilder never has.

Will try to reply to more posts when I get free again. Thanks for the discussions.

You guys might not believe me but I actually had Parker a live threat here and had a wager set for the over on this fight (was more sure on the over than in either individual) but missed out on being able to bet it because of the dang time zone. Didn't get off work in time.

Would have had over 6.5 for like -160 :BangHead:

The Wilder we saw last night was nothing like the Wilder that Fury fought.

None of it will matter if Fury beats Usyk, but Fury's hyperinflated ego is fragile (you could see how deflated he was after the Ngannou fight), and I can imagine tonight playing on his mind as he heads into the Usyk fight. If he loses to Usyk, then we assess his career based on his other achievements, and seeing as Wallin and Wilder were 2 of his top 5 wins, his resume suddenly won't look so hot barring an ageing Klitschko.

Of course, Wilder's old now, while Fury fought him around his prime, so that should be taken into consideration too.

It's the same Wilder. A very limited and poor technical boxer that looks for the one punch KO.

Just that at the time the media grossly overrated both Wilder and Fury.

I don't think it does. You could of argued after the Wilder fights that Wilder was always a bum who never fought anyone good with one good win against another unproven fighter in Ortiz. But he backed the Wilder win up with a schooling of Whyte and Whyte for all his flaws had a good resume as he wasn't risk adverse so was a much more proven quantity. So even if the Wilder wins were overrated the Whyte win shows it wasn't all smoke and mirrors and that he could beat a proven top heavyweight after the suspension.

The Ngannou fight was much more damaging. Questions have to be asked after the poor showing if he has anything left. He tried to age out Usyk but he himself may now be shot or close to it. With his drinking, use of drugs and constant weight problems, he was never going to have a long career, it's amazing he's still fighting at the top level now if I am honest, I thought he'd be another Bowe and done before 30. But now it maybe all his bad habits have caught up with him, smart money right now would be on Usyk to beat Fury which is something I never thought I'd say.

Fury's career is based off his trilogy with a guy who was exposed. Talk is cheap and that's all Fury has.

Furys two best wins are Wlad and Whyte.

After that Furys best wins are guys the level of Wallin, Wilder and Chisora.

Obviously compared to AJ's record it falls short in comparison.

Wlad, Povetkin, Whyte, Parker, Ruiz and Pulev.

Then beaten the guys the level of Wallin, Takam and Franklin.

More so, Klitschko was 39,7 years old, and has personal problems with his girlfriend, and they just had a child. Klitschko looks a shell of himself for long time, Jennings fight is a good example, even Pulev one, where he barely threw any jabs, which indicate his footwork and speed is just gone.
He was holding a lot more, due to his energy/cardio being gone, so his high punch output was nowhere to be seen.

And Fury is looking like a complete shot at the age of 35. Can you imagine how he would look at 39 years old, with 70+ pro matches.

I could see an argument for Whyte being better based on resumes, but Wilder did have a title and he did give Fury a much tougher fight the first and 3rd times. So I'd still have Wilder as Fury's 2nd best win, with Whyte 3rd but honestly the difference between Wilder and Whyte I don't think is very significant.

Nqh, Fury resume was destroyed the day he lost to MMA guy named Ngannou.
Make no mistake about it. We as a fans should not be blind to corruption and b.c. results.
There was even a poll here with majority though Fury lost the fight fair and square.

There was also uncalled 100% intentional full blown elbow that is a point deduct, and another KD that wasn't given to Ngannou.

Fury was beat by a MMA guy. He is most probably going to get smashed to piece by Opetaia in sparring and then retire before facing the two best HW in the division > Usyk and AJ.
