I would bet a hefty sum that neither Manny nor JMM KOs Gamboa inside of six rounds. Until I see the Cuban tested in deep waters against a world class contender, I'll hold off passing judgement on those fights in their entirety.
That's because most people only judge by looking at his technical/tactical skills. And judging by only that I don't blame them. However, as I mentioned before, a 12 round war isn't won by technique only. It's anybody's guess how gamboa will react if he gets knocked down hard, fights under pressure, fights 12 rounds, gets tired, etc, etc.
Well if it's any indication, he went six rounds throughly brutalising Adailton De Jesus in his usual high workrate and didn't look to break a sweat. These guys train like crazy on cardio.... And much is overstated, as Guzman is realistically an 8 round fighter on his poor stamina, but uses skill to keep in for the 12.
At the end of 2008 I'd give Gamboa a 60/70% chance of beating pac. But I just don't see Gamboa ko'ing Pac... and it's hard to imagine gamboa winning a 12 round decision over him as we haven't even seen him fight above 6.. In the end it's all guessing what we're doing.
Gamboa has been fighting tomato cans for six rounders and is unproven at the world class level, yet he'd beat any 130 pound fighter? Come on, I know this is an internet forum, but let's be smart.
Nothing more than a HYPE TRAIN at it's peak. What would be the best move to HYPE an incoming fighter? To mention him along the biggest names around! :yep
its easy for people to say he could beat PAcquiao at the end of the year when everyone knows that fight will never come off.
Tell you what...let's have this conversation as soon as Gamboa fights an experienced B level fighter.:good Then we'll know what chance he might have against an A- fighter like Pacman.
