Rios is without a doubt a warrior, but Yuriorkis has my respect win or lose. He's going 2 divisions north to take on the most lethal lightweight in the world aside from Marquez. Es cabron el chaparro.
Gamboa's advantage is gonna be his speed because he cant try to impose his power against Rios, he is not gonna seriously hurt him and will expose himself too much if he stands in front of Rios.Unless Rios is emanciated. gamboa is already walking around the limit weight, he is just working on keeping his speed and power,he doesnt have to worry about nutritionists or diuretics.Thats where he has the edge in this fight.
your right rios will have a hard time making weight ..he failed to do so last time and lost his belt for it.
Anyone who thinks weight is gonna be an issue should look at DLH v Pac.....Rios is gonna come in really drained, whereas Gamboa will be fresh The weight issue suits Gamboa more than it does Rios
The weight issue shouldn't be a problem for Gamboa , he walks around at 140+ nowadays , Rios will find himself in real trouble , he won't know how to handle Gamboa's speed , power and ring knowledgeship , he has never been in a ring with a fighter with Gamboa's skill . Great fight , can't wait . Peace .
Maybe Gamboa and his team are intelligent enough not to trade with the naturally bigger man, but happily employing a gameplan revolving around potshotting and staying outside? :bbb
