I've seen an alarming number of people recently claim that Loma "schooled", "dominated", "destroyed", "humiliated", "12-0'd", etc. Garry Russell Jr.

What happened to the objective boxing fans? You might not like GRJ, but there is no reason to twist the facts to suit your agenda. Loma won, but in no way, shape or form was Russell "Lacy'd" in that fight.

Loma won a Majority Decision against Rusell. A.majority.decision.is.not.schooling. Let's take a look at how various boxing experts scored the fight:

    Official scores: 116-112, 116-112, 114-114
    THE RING: 115-113 for Loma
    Associated Press: 118-110 for Loma
    Steve Kim: 117-112 for Loma

A clear victory? Sure. A Calzaghe vs. Lacy type of schooling? Not even close.

Yeah, and I guess those draw cards for Canelo and Maidana were also legit lol...

I actually had it fairly close at the time, but upon multiple viewings it really was a schooling, nothing Gary was doing was effective he could barely land any punches. The rounds Gary could have been awareded were basically just given away by Loma due to inactivity.

I'd like a rematch. Still favor Loma but Russell is looking great.

yeah, it was a competitive fight. Russell took most of the eraly rounds and loma swept the last 4...for some reason, it's now been revised to a domination by loma. it wasn't close to a domination...after watching it again, i had it a draw, same as one of the judges...

The thing with this fight is:
    - Not sure what was up with the weight, but loma looked much bigger than GRJ...at the time i was thinking loma had rehydrated up to a 10 lb weight advantage...but, after GRJ-gonzalez, i think kmaybe GRJ is just a very small fw, because Gonzalez looked much bigger than him too.

    - GRJ came in the fight dehydrated...and it showed in the last 4 rounds where he seemed to fade badly. But it was in the fight the whole way and made it competitive to the end.

GRJ is absolutely brilliiant. A legit threat to anyone at 125 with superstar potential written all over him. I think he beats loma now, assuming no problem with GRJ's conditioning.

i dont usually like compubox bs statistics but Gary´s 10% connect average and him being woblled several times, paints the picture.
He won a few rounds here and there but he got beat up.

Russel just flat out lost, no excuses.

If you want to become a complete elite boxer though, you can't let the thought of there being another man stronger then you. Boxing is mental as much as it is physical.

This is why Russell was able to come out last night and do what he did.

All good points. I imagine that most people saying that Loma 12-0'd Russell either watched ****py 120p streams or are blinded by their manlove towards Robochenko.
