Disagree. Kimbo is a backyard brawler, and Thompson is just a journeyman. I wouldnt base my opinion on MMA on a garbage Kimbo Slice fight. The top level MMA fighters are very well conditioned and have very well rounded skills. And no, grappling cannot be learned in a month.

Having seen this latest fight, I have to agree with you.

I just felt that before, based on the evidence we had up until then, Wlad would probably have just waited until Kimbo gassed himself out just to be on the safe side (and Wlad has been fighting 'safe' lately don't forget...)

The ref most likely was looking for an excuse to stop it, but Thompson is pure garbage. He's slow and dumb as molasses and Kimbo demonstrated much better skills. Every time they stood and punched he rained clean punches on Thompson.

Kimbo has zero ground game but Thompson looked like an old woman with his feeble incredibly slow punches and elbows on the ground. Then when Kimbo got up he actually looked REFRESHED because Thompson's punches and elbows had done zero damage and Kimbo had been given a chance to rest.

Thompson was a few punches from getting KOed after his ear exploded.

After watching that Thompson fight, can anyone say with a straight face Wlad would gt KOed by that? Maybe pre-Emmanuel Steward. Back then, Wlad was bad at pacing himself. Kimbo looks like he's worse at that then the old Wlad. Kimbo got his ass saved because EliteXC is the only "name" they got. Shame too, because a lot of the other fighters on that show were a damn sight more entertainin.

So after seeing Kimbo's display of lightning quick hands I think he has a good shot a droping Wlad. Wlad best duck this fight at all costs.

It is defo not based on this fight bro..
    MMA is very very overrated.

They have no condition for the most part & are 90% of the time winded by the end of 1 round. You defo have your 1 good fighter but for every Rampage Jackson you have some college kid ex Skater who decided to attempt to lean a hold and throw some punches because it looks cool.

Trust me bro, I've been watching MMA since the very first UFC event.

One really good thing to come out of tonight's joke of a fight - it will probably turn a lot of people off MMA.

We had a complete hype-job get pretty much owned by an MMA journeyman, until the fight was stopped due to a grotesque injury.

The bulk of the fight was two guys hugging on the floor, with one "throwing" a string of pitty-pat elbows / slap-punches while the other just lay there.

Hilarious (in a bad way fot the fighters), pathetic, and eventually disgusting.

    Great night for boxing. :yep

yeah I think Kimbo would have stopped him eventually anyway, but I still didnt like the stoppage.

I already knew Thompson was ****, I didnt even expect it to be so close, so what does that tell us about Kimbo? Anyone with a good ground game will beat him. The guy is nothing but a hypejob. Good promoting, and an interesting story goes a long way.

Tru and when Margarito - Cotto becomes the war is should be, that will turn on so many more fans to boxing, though MMA still does have many exciting fighters such as A. Silva, V. Silva, GSP, Penn, Fedor, etc....

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Dude! Kimbo looked half-dead when he got up (eventually... after sitting on his knees for 30 seconds on ***** street!)

He was being owned, face it.

Yeah the fight left me with a sour taste in my mouth because a lot of people who don't know anything about mma just saw Kimbo beat this big impressive looking guy (who actually sucks), but Kimbo would be easily submitted by a skilled opponent.

Kimbo KO Wlad in a Boxing match? ****...I gues shaw will do anything for a buck:lol:

There's no reason whatsoever for that match. Let Kimbo start a pro career get at least 15 fights beat some real contenders THEN TALK THAT ****. But that wont happen.

Dream on Mr. Shaw and keep promoting Kimbo's UFC fights thats obviously what Kimbo is best suited for.

As for what happens when Kimbo faces Wlad if that happened? A one sided beat down which lasts as long as Kimbo could stand. Dude aint a BOXER he is a STREET FIGHTER, period:good
