Witter - Malignaggi is a terrible fight, but if Witter can secure a win it does leave Hatton with nowhere else to go.

The more I think about the more I can only see one possible opponent for Hatton and that is Junior Witter. I will be dissapointed if this fight doesn't happen and the British public as well as other fans around the world would really miss out. I reckon the ball is in Hatton's court and he needs to fill out the M.E.N arena and put on a show by dethroning Witter.

Totally agree. It wasnt hardcore boxing faithful that was filling up the M.E.N after Rickys record WBU defences. Frank knew precisely what he was doing.

Bob the pipe fitter hasn't got a title and can't make the 140 limit.

**** fight though, I'd rather see him go to war with Torres.

Bob the pipe fitter is grossly overweight and has a failing business to resurrect. Come on man, be realistic. :patsch

Fighting Rees will be a waste of time, witter is the obvious fight to take but it won't happen......The trouble is the division lacks any quality other than Ricky,so I'd like to see him take a shot at Cotto where at least he's gonna get a fight, the other two wont last 6 rounds between them.

Yeah Torres would be a good fight.

Would the WBA allow a Hatton match, he has to fight kotelnik next...

Hatton is trying to make a record for fighting the worst P4P belt holders in history:

Maussa - journeyman and loses to journeymen
Collazo - maybe top10 at his weight but barely
Gavin Rees - probably not top5 at 140 in Britain let alone the world. Witter, Olusegun, Lynes, Mutley, Daws, Morrison would all beat Rees

Exactly. In fact, he may not even be a lightweight - he looks more like a super-feather to me. He has done AMAZINGLY well to become WBA champ - and even though he's basically a dead man walking, he should be proud of himself.

What a joke of a match-up. Hatton could stick-and-move against the shorter Rees and look like Ali in the process. There was me at least hoping for someone like Malignaggi or Harris as a tune-up for Witter. Rees, as amiable as he is, is even shorter than Naz, has the power of a strawweight, and is a pressure fighter who doesn't even throw that many punches. Were it not for the fact that M'Baye can't handle head movement, no-one outside of Rees's immediate family would know who he is.

Let's hope for Rees TKO8 on cuts. :happy
