If Barker had good power, then I would agree with you that Geale would possibly struggle, but he doesn't. Geale by UD.

He has decent power, more than Geale imo and he is an exellent counter puncher which will work for him with Geales style. Either way it would make for a good fight.

Barker has mostly stopped opponents with a barrages of punches, and lacks single punch KO power. Even his KO of McDermott with a fairly big right hand was more from cumulative effect than that single punch.

Good match-up. But I think Geale will outwork Barker to a points win.

Geale has a better chance beating Darren Barker than he does against Matt Macklin or Martin Murray IMO.

Wont be easy going into his opponents backyard in the UK.

i agree with kegsy i think barker is a slightly easrier fight than both macklin and murry . i think geale can win a decision over there but he will have to be very busy to do so , as 50 / 50 rounds will go to the local boy.

14,000 screaming Poms at Upton Park could not stop Michael Katsidis beating Kevin Mitchell. I see no reason why Geale, who has already won twice in fromt of German crowds, can't get the job done over there.

The only money Geale can make in AUS is when he is fighting Mundine lol, of course if this fight goes down its going to be in the UK. Geale needs someone who will pay him the big bucks and the only person who will do that in AUS is Mundine. If he wants to gets paid he is going to have to chase the money because he is not a big enough draw card in AUS.

The poms sure did lift a gear during the Olympics but Geale does his best work on the road. It's a pretty good compromise. I also think that Geale could do financially even if he doesn't get to the states.
With the right match-up (opponent being the drawcard) there are more fights in the UK and South America than the US. Maybe Quillin or GGG would be held there. There isn't much point in fighting here again unless its mandatory.

If he is fighting Barker where else do you think it would be? both are unknown in the US so the logical choices are AUS or UK, with UK being the first of the two due to the money Geale would earn fighting Barker on his home soil.

Looks like Barker in the UK. Geale says official announcement to be made on Sunday 19/5.
