Both fighters are on the same level in terms of resume. I have seen a few of Pirog's fights, I think he is a very good fighter. I think Geale will be in for a tough night, if this fight happens.
This sounds to good to be true If it comes off lets hope Gealey can negate Pirogs power and take him to school :good
It's at the scene team Pirog focused on May bout then Geale on HBO in August. Been in negotiations for sometime apparently. Kegsy and Perfect Jet in the know.
Good to see the Telegraph giving Gealey some publicity. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...in-washington-dc/story-e6freygr-1226311858605 bit premature. nothings certain in boxing.
Geale was made the mandatory for Mundine for the IBO farce, mundine chose to hand the belt back instead. Geale has since won an IBF and defended it twice, Mundine doesnt qualify, bigger fish to fry. Adamawas the mandatory, pirog makes perfect sense, and martinez is on the radar. Did i mention that mundine handed back the IBO belt instead of fighting Geale? Oh yeah, I did.
Easy win for Pirog. Geale had a close fight against Sylvester, who was never world class. Geale is having a good workrate and nice skills, but his style is made for Pirog. No Punch and easy to hit. TKO 8 for Pirog.
Been holding off commenting on this one because it's boxing...teases like this happen every other week. You get all excited about a proposed fight and your soul is crushed by the inevitable visa problems. Right now I'm favoring Pirog...but if this fight actually comes off you can strike this post off the record a week out when I'm getting all parochial and ****.
Easy to hit? Have you even watched any of Geales fights? No punch? As far as i remember, boxing is nothing but punches. And I believe an IBF World title means you are world class.
Looks like art pellulo of banner promotions is handling this card. Apparently in his words its " very very close" to a done deal. August 25.
A PPV is a much, much bigger event than A BAD. Accordingly, it's usually a deeper card with higher production value etc. It goes: HBO Boxing After Dark: mostly for prospects, or contenders/titlists only getting their first bit of American TV exposure...rarely are championships at stake HBO WCB (World Championship Boxing): headlined by established name fighters...usually a championship is on the line. HBO PPV: headlined by stars...usually the Ring title or p4p honors or something of the like is the grand prize. The majority of HBO Boxing programming is HBO WCB, a couple every month. BAD is a little more rare and obviously PPV there are only a handful per year.
Pirog is apparently facing Ishida in May. Should be a easy win for Pirog and Geale in August unless Ishida flukes it again like against Kirkland.
According to Pirog's promoter, WBO are refusing to sanction the Ishida fight, whilst not naming a mandatory opponent and at the same time sanctioning N'Jikam v Bursak for the Micky Mouse belt.
