I'd say what Greb did against every heavyweight he ever fought is astounding as it is but for me there is a reason why certain heavyweight's become THE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION while some just remain very good heavyweight fighters and others are nearly men - and there's a reason why some HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONS become ALL TIME GREAT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONS

For me, some factors need to be giving,

Are they fighting under Johnson's rules? Or 1920's rules? Between the eras, the sport change.

If you watch the old Johnson fights, or even Gans Nelson, its about circle, clich, get your hits and maul your way to victory.

The 1920's, I suppose perhaps because of shorter rounds, were more movement.

It also in my book, if Johnson can "Grab" Tunney and maul him on the inside like he did to Jeff and Burns, which will determind if the winner imo.
If Johnson can make this into a clichfest, he has a shot to wear Tunney out. If not, I think Tunney boxes his way to victory.

We never know, I not going to make this other Dempsey thing, but Greb and Wills never got the shot to prove if they can become GREAT heavyweight champs.

Same goes for Langford, Jackson and others.

 Catch your drift - but just a last bit on Greb - I think he would've put in a whirlwind performance had he got a shot at the greatest prize in sports but to be a great heavyweight champion I don't know? - would there have been a reign of any great substance or length? - how would rematch of gone?? Kind of makes me think about when Roy Jones won a heavyweight title belt - it was a shot at history and he pulled it off but that was that - he was never going to defend it - it was just too much - but Greb - they don't come any greater IMO - cheers Demps -you seem like a top man - don't be a stranger :good

Johnson takes Tunney on a close verdict over 15, kayo around 30 if a 45 rounder.
