I think this forum , the whole boxing world , and everyone involved has completley lost it when saying things like this !!!!!! :? I have eluded to the fact i dont know enough about the business side of generating money from a fight but this is borderline insanity !!!!! Nobody listens to Audley anymore , he was relevant while he was un defeated , now he's dead wood and everybody (boxing fans , public , every mother ****er) knows this !!!!! This is officialy my last post on this conversation , im beginning to lose faith in logical human thinking !!!!
At work people know that I love football and boxing... Of course the World Cup takes precedence but around a dozen people have asked me if Audley is fighting Haye, none of whom like boxing. This will honestly be huge and will sell out a 20-25,000 seater stadium like Loftus Road without any problems. Even Mrs Lee Mc said she would like to come to it... As for your claims that no-one is listening to Audley anymore, you couldn't be further from the truth and he is on the verge of landing a mega pay-day and I do mean MEGA.
Some further comments: "It would be huge for British Boxing. It would make a lot of people a lot of money" - Tris Dixon, editor of Boxing News. "It would be massive for British Boxing" - Spencer Oliver. "It could be the biggest fight this country has seen" - Barry Hearn.
i reckon haye will fight adamek or chagaev next unless he grows a pair and takes a gamble with 'old man' vitali? at least haye can land a few on vitali, the chinny younger brother seems to have perfected not gettin hit and haye will struggle there.
Ya thats the thing. Non boxing fans are what you need for really big pay days, and they know Audley a lot more than they would anybody else. Unfortunately
Given Adam Booth's comments reported in yesterday's papers, I think that Haye v Harrison now looks very, very unlikely to happen. Do most of you think the same?
As Lee says, I've been asked as "the boxing fan" if Haye is going fight Harrision quite a few times. I'd never get asked if its was a Haye-Chagaev fight. I can only think people remember Harrision from at the Olympics and havn't seen much of him since...
Adamek next, you can take that to the bank...Haye can de-rail that particular hype train once and for all and put the General in mourning
If it isn't a Klitschko.... Adamek is the next best option. Regardless of him not being a natural heavy.... three wins over Golota, Estrada and Arreola is better than what pretty much everyone else has done. Chagaev isn't active, is boring to watch and was hammered by Wlad..... Valuev he's beaten already, Chambers was hammered by Wlad..... Sam Peter lost clearly to Chambers etc etc.
Adamek is the only fight I want ( other than a K obviusly ) but it needs to be Wlad or Vitali after that. and as most of you have said , the Harrison fight would sell because most people dont know what they are watching , apparently there were people who thought Khan v Barrera was gonna be a real fight too.
Audley has not done enough to earn a title fight so it will be annoying.Haye v Anyone will sell at the moment. The promoters will try and white wash over Audley`s loses especially the Sprott one and concentrate on the gold he won.It will sell cos Haye appeals to people who dont normally watch boxing and Harrison is well known for his gold medal, the casual fan will see it as a good match up.
Pathetic fight, but if it happens I will pray that Harrison flukes it and lands a big left to KO Haye. Haye is my favourite fighter, but I wont be a fan anymore if he signs this fight, it's a total **** take and he will have been talking **** about fighting a Klit for over a year and yet gone and signed with snore fest Audley. The only good result would be Audley starching him. But the actual result would be a Haye KO within 2 rounds, probably within 1.
