Does anybody know the truth about Chuvalo's alleged facial bone injury going into the Frazier fight?

    Is this story BS?

If he really was injured in some way going into the fight, why do it?

They had to know George was going to catch some real punches from Frazier.

Chuvalo backed up Joe at times in the first round, but by the third round Joe was really steamrolling him.

George Chuvalo was in 'prme shape' for the Joe Frazier bout.

He had been working out like a 'Banshee' in the Catksills (upstate New York)
prior the bout. He was at 100% both physically and mentally, and many had
predicted that George would ruin the 'smallish' Frazier.

George had looked 'so good' in training camp.

No excuses for George, as 'Smokin Joe' was a 'rampaging wrecking ball'.

does not mean that he could run in2 a big punch later .

So Frazier won rds , but was not going 2 stop Chuvalo had it was not 4 that injury .
