If nothing else he had the greatest functional strength of any world class fighter.

George has done amazing things. He was so amazing, that he will be mentioned as long as boxing exists. To knock down the heavyweight champion of the world 6 times in two rounds... And not just any champion, but the ATG champion, and according to many a Top 10 ATG champion.
And then after a break of 10 years to become champion again. Such an example does not exist in the history of boxing, and such an example does not exist in the history of sports.
How he boxed with Evander Holyfield (totally regular champion, close to peak) shows who George Foreman is.
    Only George can do that.
My only regret is that we didn't see George Foreman vs. Mike Tyson in 1990, instead of James "Buster" Douglas vs. Mike Tyson; who knows what we would see? Tokyo Foreman?

Very nice post-except being fat is documentably bad for you at every stage of life.
Linked with various lifestyle diseases-but the exception is being just overweight but active...Some *are* "fat but fit".
Now having a few extra pounds when aged does seem to be better to weather illness.
    If active & healthy...

    Good post.
I'd love to have seen Tyson v Foreman in Tokyo in 1990!

My favourite HW of all time & a personal hero. Read his book "God In My Corner" some years ago in my teens. An absolutely phenomenal fighter & human being with an amazing life story - that which is of the caliber of a Renowned Hollywood Movie (which ironically he's finally got).

I’ve got to find time to go see the movie. It will probably be cheesy but what a great real-life story.

Agreed Big George was the most naturally strong fighter in boxing history. The way Foreman
casually pushed around guys like Chuvalo and Norton was ridiculous.Chuvalo and Norton
    were also powerful men.
    God bless Big George.
