I read several times that this dream fight was supposed to happen after Tyson was to beat Buster Douglas but we all know how that turned out.

Who do you think was going to win the bout? Foreman's got the strength like he did in his first career, he was slower and could not cut the ring like he used to but he was also more durable, fought a smarter fight and could go a whole 12 rounds. Tyson was just past his prime but still formidable and a beast in the ring. I read that Tyson said to Don King "You wanna fight that ****in animal you do it" or something like that but don't know if it is legit.

I believe George could have won this one as he always loved swarmer fighters and could take an insane amount of punishment and still come at you.

IMO it all depends on which mindset Tyson brings to the ring, because this fight is up to Tyson to win or lose.

If Tyson comes with a swarmer mentality he would be playing directly into George's strenghts.

However if Tyson goes for a more cautious strategy, stays out of danger and tries to outbox Big George, then I think he has a good chace of getting a lackluster win, but a win all the same.

This scenario would play a lot like Foreman-Moorer. With Big George chasing Tyson around the ring, with Tyson staying out of range most of the time, dancing around and snipping away here and there to rake some points. Of course stamina would be a key factor.

Let's remember Moorer was winning easily until he was reckless and got caught. If Tyson stays cautious and away, he probably wins in a boring bout. Otherwise, it is Foreman's win.

Yes but can you imagine Tyson staying away from Foreman and keeping his distance? That is not how he boxed, his strategy was more or less bring the fight to the opponent and bombard him with shots.

Everyone agrees that the peak of Foreman's second career is the fight with Holyfield (where he showed an exceptional chin), or the year 1990. On the other hand, it was no longer Mike Tyson with 1988. I will immediately write off the possibility that Tyson would win by knockout. There is very little chance that Tyson would win on points. During this period, Foreman sets traps very well. I predict that Foreman would win one way or another.

No way is Tyson holding back and playing the long game.

Of course, that is the big "if".

If Tyson tries to trade punch to punch with Big George he goes down fast, he will be ragdolled worse than Frazier was.

I also doubt Tyson will be able to keep his distance and box around Foreman, but that is his only realistic chance to win barring Big George steeping on a banana peel.

Comeback Foreman is not and never would trouble a pre prison Tyson who still gave a shid.

He was all smoke and mirrors, slow beyond slow .easy to hit and took him forever to pull the trigger.

He took a absolute beating vs light punching Holyfield

Fought nothing but filler and got Title shots not on merit but on name.,

Struggled immensely with C level fighters...............Stewart/Saverese/Schulz/Grimsley aka got gift decisions.

Title shot number 2 lost to Tommy Chin........Tommy Chin, let that sink in.

Title shot number 3 finally succeeded in the 11th hour after taking a beating vs by lucky punch ,a glass chinned Ex Light Heavy.

Refused to fight anybody worth a lick, even the ghost of Tony Tucker as a Title defense and was stripped of all belts including the refusal to re match the Schulz robbery.

Career number two , excellent managing and poor fighting but maximum $$$, cannot blame the man for not taking any risks, boxing is a business.

Comeback Foreman has zero chance of winning vs pre prison Tyson, he will get stopped most likely by Ref mercy stoppage .

    70's Foreman has a chance, 50/50 fight.

George Foreman came back to fight Mike Tyson , everyone has seen the video of Foreman on the Letterman show saying" I promise you I'll do the same thing to Tyson, no more than one or two rounds"" and Tyson had a chance to fight Foreman and turned it down, their were several witnesses to it. 70's Foreman vs Mike? the only think 50/50 about this fight is would Mike see the 3rd round.

I think Tyson would’ve been several steps ahead of Foreman throughout in terms of speed, and would have beat him fairly comfortably, not dissimilar to the Ruddock fights.

Probably similar to the Bonecrusher fight, that is about the level of fighter comeback Foreman was.

I would have favored Tyson to win but I think George would have held his own.

Comeback Foreman never ko'ed ANYBODY significant except One Defense Moorer who caught Holyfield on a mal functioning Roid cycle.

Even washed up post prison Tyson would go thru Moorer like a hot knife thru butter, Bowe/Lewis/Crazy Ike /Tua would do the same.....wait ,Tua actually did .....in seconds.

Foreman did not meet ONE top ranked Heavy Hitter in his comeback, not one and Bert Cooper aint no price, lol.

Tommy Chin who actually could crack was a fringe contender , never Top and still Foreman lost convincingly .
