A lot of fighters are deluded, arrogant, talk nonsense and spin things to suit their agendas. When they do that, some are semi-funny/entertaining, some are just boring and some come across as genuinely nasty, arrogant d*ckheads. For me Groves is in the semi-entertaining group, guys like Khan are in the boring group and guys like Mike Tyson in the last group. Edit - In fact Mike Tyson was still sort of funny/entertaining despite that.
His mouth didn't get him KO'd. Talking less wouldn't have changed the outcome of the fight but it might have prevented him getting a lot of money from the rematch.
But your using shoulda, woulda, coulda on groves winning the fight and staying in there til round 12. You can't have it both ways !!!! Lets deal with the facts its 2-0
I don't really think that matters tbh. Being successful or not doesn't make you seem any more or less of d*ck/entertaining/boring etc etc... well to me at least.
I think if you act like a arrogant D**K then thats not good. But in my mind if you do you at least have to back it up with something . GG has nothing
The funny thing is so many here on the forum thought Groves was a legit challenger. And now you clowns see you were supporting an imbecile child.
as said earlier in the thread , somebody close to him really needs to take him to one side and explain how ridiculous he is starting to sound when he keeps on with the froch talk . he needs to leave this chapter of his career behind him and get on a new path and focus on that , carl is never going to fight him again so why continue on this ridiculous quest . he could lose a lot of his fan base if he continues with this . i was a big fan of george but the more interviews i see of him lately i am getting a little bit fed up of him now .
That's debatable. Some would say he has some skills, speed and power. Only properly lost one fight to a high level opponent.
He has skills, but thinks he is better then what he is. Still has a lot to prove at world level including actually winning a title
He was. He was Carl's mandatory challenger, he's ranked #1 by the WBC now, top 5 by the Ring, he dropped Froch in the first fight and gave him a good fight both times.
Groves has got plenty left, Froch had to give everything he had to beat him. End of the day he's a hard fight for anyone in the division.
Couldn't agree more. People forget that these fellas are prize fighters, ie, they fight for money. Groves understands this to the maximum, and he knows mouthing off all more than likely earn him alot more money in the process. I personally think he's entertaining, and very intelligent. Everything he does and says is all about business.
