    Not at all.

Dempsey proved himself in the ring against men the size of Lennox Lewis. The best available at the time.

McClelan has never even steped into the same ring as a world class fighter the size of Dempsey. For all we know he might just get wiped out at cruiserweight ala Bob Foster.

Moore is not the greatest puncher of all time and only someone who hadn't boxed would say he was. It depends what you mean by puncher ofcourse, but if your talking raw KO power I'd rate Elmer Ray and Charles over him, and ofcourse certainly Marciano. Moore was a skilled puncher with all his punches though

I've seen him fight Marciano, Maxim, Durrell (both), Johnson, Patterson and a few others

What have you seen of McCellan, and when did Moore sickenly KO someone with 1 shot the way McCellan did? Even though McCellan lost to Benn he left Benn a ruined fighter with a shadow on his brain, damaged kidneys, broke ribs, broke jaw and ofcourse he knocked him down twice.

If you fancy uploading some I haven't seen I'd be happy to see them? Moore is great at what he does, but hes as much boxer as puncher, like Toney was at 160-168. McCellan was a pure beast of a puncher

Dempsey's never beat up a quality big HW

McCellan supposedly beat up Toney Tucker in sparing a few times at the Kronk, better than any big men Dempsey fought :yep

Well, I see the bull**** has started and coming on thick and fast in another fantasy match-up thread.

"Dempsey didn't use a jab"
Go watch the Tommy Gibbons fight. Dempsey used a vicious jab.

Gibbons didnt even throw the jab against Dempsey, McCellan is an excellent stick and move fighter until he sees the opportunity

BULL****, don't you know the difference between a hook and jab. How many times did Dempsey use the jab in that fight, once?

Moore had incredible offense, toney did not. just dont speak about moores punching abilities and power if you have not seen some of his top knockouts and fights in his prime on film

McClelan was not really a defensive fighter though which is what he would need to be to make it out of the first two rounds.

If McClelan wants to stick and move then that is verry wise. The second he trades he is off to the infirmary.

Leonard Morrow......Morrow nearly died fell into a coma.

One fight that I own on DVD is 1951 fight vs 20-1 heavyweight contender 2young 6'2 212lb Embrell Davison.......One Straight Right hand knocks davidson out cold in the first round. pretty scary.

If Dempsey charges in early with his hands down he'll be the one going to the infirmary after eating the biggest counter hes eaten. If Dempsey eats McCellans shots hes getting put down. He needs educated pressure and to keep his defense tight and his stamina should see him take it down the stretch after losing the early rounds.

IMO McCellan is a tougher ask than anyone on Dempseys win ledger and he certainly hits harder than Tunney

I think you havent seen Toney at 160168 as Toney had an excellent offense at these weights. Hes a modern day Archie Moore and is similar in a host of ways

Power doesnt leave a fighter and Moore had very good power, he just didnt have Tyson/McCellan/Julian jackson level power.

Sorry, I cant take you seriously. You know next to nothing about Jack Dempsey and you seem quite happy with that, so I'll let you get on with it.

I can't comment as I havent seen them, I'm not saying Moore isn't a puncher, he could bang, as a puncher myself I know when a puncher is a true P4P all time devastating puncher and when 1 is not quite up to that. From what I've seen of Moore he is not in the same P4P punching bracket by some margin.

HOWEVER being a too big puncher is inefficient, those type of shots McCellan/Hamed/Tyson threw saps a fighters energy too much and sees them taking a pounding down the stretch

You know nothing about boxing technique, I've seen plenty of Dempsey fights, and you don't know the difference between a jab and a hook I'll end it at that
