At 160 I think McClellan could stop him Collins had a good chin but it wasn't granite, Eubank floored him heavily and would've stopped him before the Watson incident. A little known fact is that Eubank actually floored Collins twice in their 1st encounter but the referee didn't count the 1st knockdown which was clearly a knockdown. I also suggest you look at Collins going down like a sack of potatoes from Kevin Watts with a single body shot, and let's remember McClellan was a lethal body puncher. At 168 I would give Collins a better chance but at 160 I'm going with McClellan by stoppage.
Prime McClellan would have destroyed Collins, Benn had more power and bette head movement than Collins despite losing to him.
Collins was tough no doubt and a decent fighter but I think G man catches him early and takes him out . Steve was not hard to or hit or explosive .I don't think he can survive the early attack
The early storm from McCeallan will make the first three rounds hell - how Steve Collins adapts I’d be interested to see. Even when Gerald was “malfunctioning” and the bolts were coming undone against Benn he fought hard every round.
Bump, going against the grain and not just for the sake of it. Collins was tough ane had stamina so I don’t see him getting bombed out and McClellan put all of his efforts into getting his opponent out of there early on and didn’t have the best defence or boxing ability, Collins could box and was tough so when the fight gets out of those first few rounds, he starts tagging the tired McClellan, outjabbing him because he still has his legs and the focus to judge distance and he ends up winning by decision.
