Really ? Brian Nielsen certainly got a break vs Larry Holmes winning a dubious decision that in reality he lost 8-4.

 

To me that makes up for the OJ verdict.

 

He's the only white dude to ever "beat" him. Cobb, Bobick, Zanon, LeDoux, Cooney, Bey, Esch, and many more fell before Holmes.

 

That made me laugh thanks for that.

God, perish the thought. Imagine that moron touting himself as the oldest champion for winning a nothing belt in a meaningless fight. He’s got enough delusion for a stadium full of schizophrenics already.

 

Holmes on points in a more competitive fight, Cooney may be able to get off with some combinations with Holmes against the ropes, but feel like Holmes had enough tricks to win without the light feet, he’d draw Cooney in whilst Holmes is against the ropes and slip the uppercut in as he did to Holyfield, but would be able to land more as Cooney didn’t have Holyfield esque footwork.
All this being said, I’d probably pick the Holmes that beat Mercer to beat any version of Cooney.

 

Holmes again, maybe Larry getting tagged more and rocked.
