I must have missed the Cotto/Pavlik fight. But how could you have scored it for Clottey? :think I hope to be able to watch this fight sometime tomorrow. I'll see how swayed by the board my opinion is.
I have stayed quiet Herm, because I haven't seen it either, but??:think Abraham is the new savior and grand daddy hero of all boxing. Sturm is widely reviled. Gevor is supposed to be a great win for Abraham. At least on paper Gevor just lost to Sturm. Pretty simple math:think
can't people come to the conclusion that the middlewight division is a joke in boxing... props, to AA to challenge himself by moving up...more then i can say for others....
I don't like Sturm and hopes Gevor would win. There was NO ROBBERY!!!!! Sdunek told Gevor that he was taking too many clean shots, he said "this is **** how you take punches" He also asked him if he still had the desire after round 9. After the fight, Sdunek agreed with the decision. Gevor should have been penalized for headbutting, the ref warned him like 10 - 12 times but always allowed him to go in head first. Gevor landed some good shots but clearly Stumr landed the better ones. In the second half of the fight. Ineffective aggression doesn't win fights. Sturm had the cleaner punches, better defense, better ring generalship. Gevor was hurt a few times, Sturm wasn't. This is how this myth that every fight in Germany is a robbery is perpetuated.
BTW I scored the fight 1 point in favour of Sturm. I really don´t like the arrogant *****, but Gevor clearly lost due to is stamina. Gevor clearly had the lead in the fist five rounds but gassed and had to lower his workrate. He was clearly outboxed in the later rounds. Also Gevor should have lost 1-2 points because of his headwork on Sturms forehead. To sum it up this fight was no robbery.
The only people that got robbed were the fans of their time. This glorified sparring match was supposedly a championship fight.
i was seriously thinking about putting money on gevor before the fight. i hoped he would win to prove me right, and i didn't think his chances too bad. maybe some of you are just surprised he didn't totally **** up and that's why you're overly enthusiastic. an argument can be made for both to have won the fight, yet in the end, sturm, reigning paperchampion that he is, got the decision.
HUGE ROBBERY, insane that some Germans defends this. But the result was given. Articles before the fight stated that Sturm was the man to save Universum, and Gevor admitted before the fight that he had to stop Sturm, so he knew what he was going into...Something everybody will know about Germany now. I truely hope that Sturm gets trashed by Pavlik! Not that Sturm deserves a big moneyfight...
Just let it go you clown. I bet you probably have not even seen the fight. Even Gevor's trainer admitted that Sturm had the cleaner hands and deserved the victory. Gevor himself said "nobody should won, we were even".
Sturm had to win he is the only star left at Universum, The German people are so easy blinded... Yeah but Sturm is the real German, he changed his name to fit in. Offcourse the Universum trainer cant scream robbery! Fool! Everybody outside Germany scored this one for Gevor. Watch the fight again without the ZDF/Ploog propaganda. German boxingfans are SHAMELESS, atleast fans from other countries can admit when wrong things happen.
