GGG's defense in 3 Canelo fights is better than any opponent outside of Bivol & Floyd. Most people thought Canelo would knock GGG out in the 3rd fight, but Canelo had a hard time landing flush against a 40 year old GGG. If GGG choose to be defensively responsible, he's hard to hit.

His biggest weakness is his speed. He's got great boxing fundamentals, great footwork and good defense and good offense. He was able to use his boxing skills to nullify Canelo's speed advantage in the first 2 fights. At age 40, his reflexes just declined too much.

If he had a bit more handspeed, I don't think I would pick any middleweight over him.

He got hit a lot in his prime even against very limited opponents like Rosado. Of course, he had much better defense than, for example, Micky Ward and it can't be called poor. It was just clearly worse than about any other aspect of his game except of hand speed.
