I wasn't around then but that wouldn't even surprise me. This is how they operate. Real fans just want to see this fight, the sooner the deal is consummated the better. Always good to have something to look forward to.
My opinion is that GGG/Loeffler want to wait after the Jacobs fight and are hopping GGG wins in a spectacular manner. They will then have a better bargain chip, however the problem will be if it goes 12 rounds and he doesn't win by a KO.
I think this fight will not sell over 200K PPV since Ward/Kovalev didn't do well and it was a bigger fight. My guess is it will do anywhere between 100k - 150k. It's a big risk for GGG/Loeffler.
Acting brand new? And you aren't "acting brand new" by using Ward and Kovalev signing, which is the exemption to the rule, not the standard. And you think it's a fanboy thing to simply wait for a fight to be done before entering new negotiations? That type of statement just makes you look like a c*nt. I'll sit and wait until the fight is done. In the meantime, feel free to make a big deal over this offer.
It's a fanboy thing to pretend a deal is not possible because a fight is supposedly in the way. GoldenBoy isn't the first to offer something like this. That's where "brand new" part comes in. I could've just said ignorant.
No need to relax. I want to see them fight so I want him to accept the offer. I can only assume if you're a boxing fan you feel the same.
I want him to accept the offer too, but I'd also like Canelo to offer 70/30 to make the fight. I'm a boxing fan. The main thing is getting the fight, and both sides should be willing to take a reasonable offer. But it does work both ways. My point is simply that we have to be patient as there are a lot of other clauses in a fight deal, e.g. undercard, what if Jacobs beats GGG, what if Canelo loses earlier, rematch clauses, promotion, etc. We can't expect anything to be signed until mid-January at the very earliest.
